A gem on the square of the town of Jackboro. Decently sized place that looked smaller on the outside. Plenty of room inside. Decor was a mix of country and industrial.
There is a full bar here with several TVs in the separate bar area so you can watch sports or whatever.
Large high back booths looked comfortable.
A fair selection of drinks with good prices on the house wine and beer selections. They had specials on mimosas and bloody Mary.
The menu was surprising for this place. While they have burgers, salads, various hot sandwiches, steaks, chicken, etc, they put a bit of a fancy on it all making it a bit more than typical greasy spoon, or bar food which this is not.
For starters we got the queso, a Texas staple which had fresh jalapenos, tomatoes and such on top. Had a Bleu cheese burger with bacon which was perfect. Not cheaply made but not too pretentious. The wife had a Cobb salad with chicken and it was one of the better ones she has had. I thought about a ribeye, but decided against as it was a hair more than I wanted to pay. They were serving prime rib (Friday and Saturday only) and is $30.
Service was quick and really friendly. Restrooms clean. Overall this is a nicest place in town to eat.
