We have been to the OG Motorworks in Bradenton before, and loved it. But that’s all the way across the state. The more recent location in downtown Orlando—previously home of Orange County Brewing Company—is far more convenient, and we have now been three times.
And each time, it did not disappoint. Motorworks brews some of the best craft beer in the state!
Although my wife is not a beer drinker—her resting beer face is hilarious—she was happy with a glass of Pinot Grigio. I had a couple of afternoon pints, first off with Intellectual Property (6.8% ABV; 85 IBU), and then Pulp Fiction (6.8% ABV; 85 IBU). Both are IPAs, and equally approachable and drinkable without any reason to pucker from sourness or grimace from too much hoppiness. I’m calling it just plain good, in spite of seemingly high IBU ratings. These just went down easy.
Of course, there are numerous others on the menu that looked enticing, some I have had on previous visits in Orlando and Bradenton, and others that will happen the next time. I give Motorworks high marks for brewing across the spectrum of styles, helping ensure something for every beer drinker, from the heartiest of stouts to the lightest of lagers. You know. Just in case Mich Ultra is the boldest thing you have ever tasted.
We’ll be back for sure. And I am happy to have a 64-ounce growler and tacker gracing my man cave. As they should.
