We weren't seated until after 3pm, which on its own would have been fine. The waitress started off very kind and helpful, taking our drink and food orders quickly. Drinks were brought out and then we waited. And waited. And waited. Finally around 4:30/5:00pm we inquired where our food was. The waitress seemed shocked it hadn't been brought out yet and grabbed it for us. The plates were warm but the food was not, like it'd been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. Food wasn't even close to as good as it has been in years past. We finished eating what we could and had to track down the waitress to ask for drink refills. No one had even come by to fill up our water in the 2 or so hours we'd been seated. Another 20 minutes or so later, the waitress came to ask about dessert. 2 of us had ordered the chef's meal which came with dessert or we would have just paid and left at this point. A few of us put in dessert orders and we waited for dessert to be brought out. Two desserts had ice cream with them, which was half melted by the time the dessert was placed on the table. It was almost 6pm by this point and one of us went to find the manager because we'd never had such a horrible experience at a restaurant. The manager didn't even come talk to our table, just said they'd comp our desserts then valued the dessert from the $50 chef's menu at $4. It took so long for someone to come collect the checks that we ended up just taking them to the front to pay.
Needless to say we will never go back. If I'd written a review any year prior, it'd have been 5 stars - busy but to be expected on Christmas day. This year however the waitress never once checked on how the food was or if we needed anything, we were there for over 4 hours having arrived at 2:15pm and not leaving until around 6:30pm, the food was lukewarm and the plating was bland. The manager told the person who got up to speak with them that they had received numerous complaints that evening and it's easy to see why. She said they were struggling and if this is the service and food they now offer, I can't imagine we'd be able to go back next year even if we wanted to. Most of this could have been made better with some communication from the staff about being short-staffed or backed up but the waitress never once mentioned anything. 4 of the 7 of us have worked in restaurants before and we get being short-staffed and running behind, especially on holidays, but this was unacceptable service. Not worth the $50+ per person.
