To top it all off the wait staff is excellent. I was visiting for 3 weeks and stayed in the hotel right next to this place. I will personally say this places has provided my numerous amounts of drunken nights & closing the bar down just to walk back to my room and pass out happily. This is your typical hole-in-the-wall poolhall but everything about it provide that awesome local feel and history of such a place like Max's. This is a treasure stone to the Lafayette, Louisiana area that all should try. I truly miss this place and plan on returning whenever I get a chance. The food is amazing and the burgers are the best. The source the meat from a local provider & it's truly awesome. Highly highly recommended (some days sold out, it's that good). The music in the place is very respectable and the sound is at a perfect level. Sports will more or less be on TV as guaranteed to be watching the ragin cajun. The bathrooms could use a bit if a tune up, but really didn't matter to me as it served it purpose so I could drink more delicious alcohol. On to the wait staff. What an awesome group of barkeeps and conversations holders; always making you feel welcomed. I truly loved everyone that I meet at that place. Tons of unique people and passer-bys come through this place. It's the type of place that provide that atmosphere I think everyone eventually craves for. So, please, give Max's a try and I promise you won't be disappointed.
