Read MoreBEWARE SCAMMY VALET. I love Lolita. They always have amazing food, drinks, and service. Unfortunately, this two star rating is due to their valet service. I’ve had my car parked by the valet many many times in the past. More often than not, it felt unnecessary because the car was always parked in the parking lot and sometimes they just gave us the keys back to pull ourselves out. However, we never complained and always tipped. Tonight, I visited this establishment with my friend where she drove her Tesla without her key and only with her phone, which made it not possible for her to leave the car with the valet. When we asked if we can self park, the attendant directed us to a spot, with no mention of extra cost. However, upon getting out of the car, he proceeded to tell us it’s $10 to self park. My friend naively handed him money but I was bewildered. When I asked the manager (who was very respectful), he went and checked with the attendants and came back to tell us the attendant claimed that they provided us an option to park at the back but we didn’t want to therefore they charged “their normal fee,” which I had never heard of prior to today. They also never provided us with the option to park “three minute walk away.” I proceeded to confront the attendant who then said “he forgot” to give us the options. He was dismissive when communicating this and didn’t acknowledge his mistakes. He didn’t sound apologetic, was rude, looked past me without making eye contact, and made snide remakes (“Don’t let this ruin your night” 🙄). It’s not a lot of money and I would have been ok paying had he been accepting of his mistakes and apologized but instead I feel like I’ve been scammed. How am I to trust a man with my car when he forgets to communicate simple information???? While I love the food here, beware of the valet service. I don’t know if I will revisit if it means I have to interact with these attendants again.
