Pretty much the best bbq I've had from a business. Hey Koop's Yall need to update your Google picture it's showing me a food trailer and I despise food trailers lol! They have an old charming building that is a nice place to eat inside I've personally had their brisket, ribs, chicken and turkey all of them were great. I got green beans this time and they were spicy and delicious. I complained on a previous review about not having homemade tea and now they have it (you're welcome lol!) And it's good not over sweetened just the right amount of sugar. My son and I drank all the sweet tea they had made and my last glass was unsweet tea and it was good as well. It's not cheap (not that this economy helps that) but I'm a big eater and I can get 2 meals out of it so that helps The only thing that I haven't liked is the coleslaw and I've only had it once but it wasn't cut / shredded down to the normal size of slaw which effects the taste for me. I love this place I worry that their location is really hurting their business as far as tourists because you drive right past it when going to the seswall without even noticing it because of the heavy traffic and charming houses and trees around it. So we tell everyone we can because my family wants them to stay in business for a long long time on galveston island or maybe move to Longview tx lol! Koop's & Miller's are the best food we have found on the island (we don't drink alcohol) so we don't eat at bars. They are open for lunch until 3pm I believe? But you won't have a full menu to choose from at that point so I don't recommend going after 2pm because they are probably sold out of a lot of food items at that point and then it turns into the what don't you want cafe (I love that movie scene! ) lol! So if you don't like Koop's food then you don't like great BBQ! Great food Great people Friendly atmosphere Charming restaurant. My major problem with Koop's is they won't ship / mail me any BBQ! Lol!
