I made reservations here and explicitly stated that we were a vegan family celebrating a birthday. I’ve been to this location before, I know they advertise vegan options on the menu and they (usually) gladly accommodate the necessary dietary restrictions. When we arrived to the restaurant we reiterated to the waitress and manager (Brandon King I believe his name was), that we are vegan, this means, the chef needs to be made aware before he leaves the kitchen so that he can be prepared toA, come straight to the table with vegan butter already stocked on his cart, and B, be prepared to cook the rice and vegetables first and separately from the other families at the table.Instead, no one delivered the message to the chef, who already has a language barrier, so he comes out to a table full of hungry people and somewhat struggles to come to the conclusion that our vegan order has to be prepared before the meat and eggs are added to the grill. The chef was kind and he gladly obliged, we tipped him separately (as you always should because they put on a show), but another customer didn’t appreciate what she mistook as preferential treatment and rudely said just loud enough for me to hear “my kid is starving”… by now we all had drinks, salad and soup, so her child was not starving, she just didn’t like us… getting our food before her, even if it was a dietary obligation that had been noted and established before we even left the house. That comment rubbed me the wrong way, so I called the same manager over (Brandon King) and explained to him that this woman’s comment is the exact reason I reserved ahead of time and reiterated to the staff when I got here. Brandon responded by asking me what I wanted him to do about it. I just said nothing and went on about my night. He did eventually comp $20, probably after he noticed we spent more than everyone else at the table combined with our vegan orders. But it was too little too late.Gross behavior for a leader, the ball was dropped, and my child did not get a birthday wish let alone a performance because there was so much confusion around us ordering vegan items off the menu.Dietary restrictions: They have vegan options but be very clear about it so they don’t accidentally give you meat or dairy
