As a matter of fact, since new ownership has arrived a few years ago, EVERYTIME I have gone in this establishment, it has been a negative experience. Waiting 45 minutes to get a beer after a Turkey In A Barrel event last year comes to mind immediately. And I was told then exactly what I was told last night. The only difference was the main excuse for poor service was changed. Last night it was "Comedy Night", not enough staff to serve anyone who might come in for dinner.
Understaffed!! So what does a professional organization do at times like last night? They plan for it. Its not that difficult.
Apparently this ownership cares not for their customers. If they did, they would have adequate staff in place. But you know what? In the restaurant they didn't need more staff. When we were seated there was a family of four having dinner. They left shortly after we arrived. The rest of the entire time the four of us were eating, not one other person came into the restaurant. On a Saturday night? At the Hotel Leger? Not one other patron at the restaurant? I guess the word is out. INFERIOR.
So to summarize. Service? Lousy. Food? Below Par is being generous. Atmosphere? What atmosphere?
And I hold management responsible 100% responsible. Poor planning & staffing are a calling card apparently.
My wife and I were given a gift certificate that covered our portion of the bill, about all we had to fork out was a tip. If were were going to have to pay for our "experience" I would have protested and demanded that our bill be lowered by at least half. I have never done that before in my years of dining out.
So if anyone asks me about my experience at the Hotel Leger last night I will have to be truthful. It was very inferior, and I will not be returning as long as current ownership is in place. I will have to be truthful.
