Perhaps the best thing that I can say about Hook Fish and Chicken is that I wish that there was a location closer to my home so that I could go there more often! That's about as high of praise I think any place can get, right!?
Hook Fish and Chicken is reminiscent of other family-owned fish and chicken soul food style eateries in the general area. This location is done in a modern, fast casual style with a cavernous dining room, open kitchen and friendly, spirited staff that make you feel like you are their favorite customer.
I like that they offer a selection of fish from which to choose, like tilapia, swai, catfish, snapper and grouper. On top of that, you can get regular or jumbo shrimp as well as conch.
I'm a fan of the platters that offer three different proteins along with your choice of side and a drink. For just under $18 you get two sizeable grouper filets and ten shrimp fried in the crispy, regional cornmeal coating accompanied by three crunchy and juicy chicken wings on a bed of French fries (or rice and beans, if you like). Don't want such a huge meal or have that kind of cash to spend? That's okay because you can always get a few wings and fries for under $4 if you like!
There are plenty of assorted side dishes like corn nuggets, hush puppies, okra, onion rings and others. There's also a large selection of chicken dinners, sandwiches, family meals and homemade desserts like coconut or carrot cake or banana pudding. If you want to try something really refreshing, get your brain freeze on with one of their rainbow slushies - it's a frosty sugar rush!
To close, what I'm really saying is - please Hook Fish and Chicken, open a location in North County like Indiantown Rd in Jupiter or on Northlake in PBG. We could use your friendly employees, killer fresh food and fair prices. You'd be a great addition to the neighborhood.
