Updated review 6/5/2025: Updated review. New menu items and new prices. I noticed they no longer have the 1/4 fried chicken on the menu. That used to be my favorite appetizer here. There's only a 1/2 fried chicken on the menu now. I tried a new item, ceviche $10. This was OK. It needs more lime juice to balance out the flavors. Or perhaps add a splash of clamato juice. For my main, I ordered the 12 wings $14. They only gave me 11 wings. Luckily I checked before eating it. So, protip: check your order here. Service was fine. The people here are nice.
Original Review: During the lock-down in 2020, Honduras Kitchen was the only restaurant open late for take-out on that stretch of Mission St. No one was driving around because we were in a lock-down. Their restaurant's lights lit up the dark street like a lighthouse attracting hungry people. I was one of them. Their steak plate was really good. Fast forward to now, the tables in the main dinning room are back! Even the back patio tables are available for dine-in. On a Sunday at noon, most of the tables were filled. My pollo con tajadas $16 (fried chicken with fried bananas) and horchata $4 (rice milk drink) tasted great. It was 1/2 of a small chicken fried with wing, breast, thigh and drumstick pieces. Cabbage, small bits of carrots, pepper and tomatoes are on top of the 1/2 fried chicken with red and white sauces. It wasn't spicy at all. The fried bananas were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I wouldn't imagine this dish be good for take-out because it would lose its crunch during transport. Service was excellent. Thank you again Honduras Kitchen for everything.
