Let’s get to the actual review. The restaurant was clean. The staff was very pleasant, friendly and very energetic. You were greeted as you entered through the door. My hubby smiled as they reeled off what they had ran out of. More on that later.
My hubby had smoked wings (no pics😫) with chips (fries). He was not too keen on it. We wanted lemon pepper wings, honey barbecue wings but they just served smoke wings! This I think they should reconsider because there’s a barbecue spot down the road by the college so if I can’t have what I need here why not go there?!? I’m just saying. Please owners reconsider adding more flavors.
Next for my brisket plate. Whenever I order a brisket plate I’m expecting it to be shredded with my sauce on the side. That’s fine how I was served but that’s one of the ways I was a bit disappointed. The taste test follows. It was smoky and you could taste that natural barbecue taste which had a slight tangy, smoky, sweet taste - all the wonderful things your taste buds would appreciate. The coleslaw tasted like it was freshly made and so did the potato salad. They had ran out of many of the items I had wanted from a barbecue spot which actually showed you how good their food tasted.
Well, like I said I had a taste for a few particular things and they did not have it which created disappointment within me. Also, my brisket was not shredded and this caused another disappointment. I’m not saying I won’t go back because I will and maybe just maybe they’ll have my items and my taste buds will be surprised and delighted!
One more thing before I sign off; the portion was good size. If it was shredded I probably would not have gotten a lot of meat 🤔 but like I said I am always getting shredded so whole or sliced is different which doesn’t mean bad (this is a good topic for my podcast 🤗). The meat was supple and not chewy.
Please, support them! They’re not trying -THEY’RE DOING!! I love the staff’s enthusiasm and pleasantness.
