Grazie Nonna in Washington

There are only 2 restaurants in the DC area that I think are just spectacular and authentic for pasta, and Grazie Nonna is one of them. Love the ambiance, quick service and quality food. The Sunday Sauce pasta definitely lives up to the hype, a must try.

I love this place!! I literally will come for the Caesar salad, garlic bread and espresso martini's alone!! Like I've never had a Ceaser salad taste soooo good!! Lol idk what it is!! I tell EVERYONE about it!! Anywho, I've gone about 3 times at this point, the first time all I got was the salad and garlic bread and martini. The second time I got the salad and vodka sauce pasta; now the vodka sauce could've used a little more help (like some garlic or basil or SOMETHING) but after I added crushed red peppers and a pinch of salt ...it was cool. And also, the noodles are AL DENTE (which I expected because it is an Italian restaurant...)but for people who don't know, just be prepared. Now the last time I went (last week), I FINALLY tried the pizza!!!! And OMG!!!! Delicious!! I don't eat meat...so I opted for the Il Bruco (plus the Ceaser salad and espresso martini lol) That pizza is worth EVERY PENNY!!!!!!! OMG!! I talked about it so much, my mom wanted me to take her today lol so that's probably what we're going to do

I rarely give a place 5 stars after visiting only once. This place did a great job all around. The service (5/5), the ambiance (5/5) and the food (5/5). My friends were visiting DC for the first time and I randomly chose this place after seeing it on TikTok. Our server, Crystal, made great suggestions and also had great conversation. The food quality blew my mind. We had calamari and pizza for the table, then I ate chicken Parmesan for my meal. Everything was fresh, the flavors and ingredients used were all so fresh and prepared wonderfully. I will definitely be back.

I asked the manager for his name and commended him for a real nice dinner experience. The manager cleaned and sanitized our table then seated us. We liked it so much we went back the next night. Super Servers, Delicious food and real nice, clean restaurant. They serve real authentic Italian food, just like my Mom's Sicilian cooking. Definitely going back next time we are in D.C.

AHmazing food and service! The restaurant was packed when I arrived, but being a party of 1 I snagged the last spot at the bar. It was rather snug, but that quickly disappeared with AHmazing service from the bar team and the drunken love pizza! Cannot recommend this spot enough!

I absolutely love this place! I came here recently for my best friend’s last meal in DC before moving out of state. Grazie Nonna was our top choice and it did not disappoint. Our server was incredibly kind, personable, and attentive from start to finish. We started with the Caesar salad for the table and it was scrumptious: perfectly dressed without being soggy and topped with toasted breadcrumbs that added the perfect texture. For my entrée, I ordered the vodka sauce pasta and added meatballs for protein. 10 out of 10! The vodka sauce was so good I could’ve sipped it from a cup. One of my friends even ordered garlic bread just to soak up every last bit. The pasta itself was perfectly cooked and had that wonderful homemade feel. The meatballs were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I highly recommend adding them to your order. We sat out on the patio, which I sometimes hesitate to do for fear of being forgotten, but our server was consistently attentive and the service remained quick and professional all evening. I can’t wait to go back!

Got a 4 top walking in on a Thursday night, which was a nice surprise. The food is solid. No surprises No mind blown experiences. Just solid Italian food that is light and delicious. We ate a full meal and walked out feeling good about ourselves. I'd highly recommend their garlic bread. It is 10/10. It was a nice dinner experience and we'd be back if we're in town again.

I’ve had Grazie Nonna on my list ever since thefunnymomma gave it two glowing reviews, and this past Saturday, I finally checked it out with my homegirl. Let me tell you—I’ve never been to Italy, but this food definitely gave me a round-trip ticket. Let’s get into the details. It’s D.C. You already know—metered parking everywhere. The vibes were very much “circle the block twice and pray.” But we found a spot, so the night was already off to a good start. Our table was booked for 10:15 PM, which gave me pause since Google said they close at 10 PM. Naturally, I called to confirm, and the hostess reassured me they take reservations until 10:45 PM. Crisis averted. We arrived at 10:23, fashionably late but not obnoxiously so, and the hostess greeted us warmly before seating us at a cozy two-top by the window. As soon as we sat down, the water debate began. My homegirl, ever the fancy one, insisted on sparkling water because she “swears by it.” Do you know how much sparkling water costs at a restaurant? $10 a bottle. But hey, hydration is key, and I’m happy to report I drank all my allotted two cups from the bottle. Growth. The server came over to ask if we wanted starters, and we did what any good friends would do—ordered to share. I got the calamari; my homegirl went with the Caesar salad. The calamari? Solid but nothing groundbreaking. It was crispy, seasoned well, and came with your standard marinara and aioli. A “good-not-great” situation. But the Caesar? BABY. That salad was a revelation. Fresh, crisp romaine, creamy dressing, a generous dusting of Parmesan, and crunchy breadcrumbs for texture. A sprinkle of chives added a pop of flavor, and it was all served on a vintage-style plate that made me feel like I was dining in the Italian countryside. Healthy eating that doesn’t taste like it? Say less. When it came time for entrees, I ordered the Sunday Sauce (gnocchi), and my homegirl got the Drunken Love pizza. The gnocchi arrived first, and y’all… that first bite made me realize thefunnymomma and I have identical taste buds. The gnocchi was pillowy perfection, bathed in a rich, meaty marinara sauce, topped with fresh basil and Parmesan. It was warm, comforting, and everything I didn’t know I needed on a Saturday night. The pizza? Stunning. A golden, blistered crust, fresh basil, and just the right amount of Parmesan. We had to put it on the neighboring table because ours was too small (a first-world problem, I know). Pro tip: eat it while it’s hot. We let it cool down while we tackled the gnocchi, and while it was still good, I know it would’ve hit even harder fresh out of the oven. Lesson learned. Our total came to $101.06, which included a 4% surcharge (an operational fee introduced during the pandemic). Not outrageous for the quality, but definitely a reminder that fancy sparkling water adds up. Just when we thought the night was over, we noticed a stream of people heading to the back of the restaurant. Curious, I asked our server what was up. Turns out, there’s a speakeasy hidden back there that’s open until 3 AM! If we hadn’t already booked another speakeasy, we would’ve stayed. Now I have another reason to come back. Grazie Nonna is officially my go-to for Italian food. The quality, flavors, and overall experience were unmatched. Between the chic decor (think chandeliers, rustic touches, and candlelit tables) and the cozy yet lively vibe, it’s the perfect spot for a night out. Trust me—book the table, order the Caesar, and take your taste buds on a trip to Italy. Oh, and maybe skip the sparkling water unless your hydration habits are bougie like my homegirl’s.

This is some of the best Italian food I have ever had. I got the vodka sauce pasta with meatballs and garlic bread. Everything was delicious! Service was great and the food came out quickly. I will be back soon and as often as possible lol

BEST PLACE IN TOWN!!! We are working in town and this is literally our 4th time here in 3 weeks! The food is amazing, between all of us we have almost tried the entire menu. EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS!!!! The salads are fresh and well seasoned, the pastas are amazing. Sunday sauce was my favorite! The Drunken Pizza is so delicious, and the service is phenomenal!!! I will always come here when in DC from now on! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! 10/100! 🫶🏼💯

AMAZING!!! Came here on a Sunday night with a reservation (book at least a week or more in advance!!!) and was seated immediately. The inside is small, but decorated very nice and had a great ambiance. We tried the Caesar salad, drunken love pizza, Sunday sauce pasta, vodka sauce pasta, and garlic bread. Literally EVERYTHING was outstanding. Some of the best food I’ve had in a very long time. I’m so excited to come back and try everything else on the menu. Even the Caesar salad was a standout! The service was very quick and there was barely a wait for the food. One of my new favorite restaurants!!! Absolutely loved it.

I had an amazing night. Christel made our experience, warm and pleasant and welcomed. She took extra care of us. Everything we ordered was just perfect for a good Italian dinner! I had guests visiting from out of town, and they were amazed by the atmosphere, the level of music that let people enjoy a conversation without shouting or yelling. Grazie Christel.
