In January 2025, we visited Grandma’s Kitchen, a small and charming Uzbek restaurant in Dania Beach. The cozy, mini-sized space added to its unique appeal.
I ordered Ayran, a yogurt drink that was salty and slightly tangy. A friend remarked that it tasted similar to Gazpacho soup with a hint of dairy. For appetizers, we had the Crispy Eggplant Salad, which had a tofu-like texture—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside—paired with a refreshing salad, making it a great starter. The warm Potato and Mushroom Salad, sprinkled with dill, was tender and easy to enjoy.
The Manti dumplings were rich in flavor, and the addition of sour cream made them even more satisfying. The Lagman was, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever had—chewy noodles in a broth infused with the delightful aroma of tomato and herbs. We all loved it. The Pilaf was outstanding, with perfectly separated grains of rice, fragrant with oil, and paired with tender, flavorful beef.
To finish, we had the Honey Cake, which wasn’t overly sweet and had a moist, soft texture that was absolutely delicious. Every dish we tried was exceptional. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I can’t wait to return to try more dishes.
