Always fresh & local, every dish is flavorful, complementary, balanced, & perfectly cooked. Slight tweaks to the menu nightly keep it interesting, and don't skip dessert. As an initially picky eater, I credit Fore Street with massively broadening my palette when I came here at least once a week as a young adult working weekdays in Portland - every type of seafood or produce I tried here was unbelievably delicious. The trend continued tonight with a tomato goat cheese tart, an appetizer special - I normally avoid tomatoes but so glad I gave this a chance! The service is always excellent and so friendly, the ambiance is a delight in every season, I could go on & on. Reservations open two months in advance but the bar is open seating and serves the full menu. They also save room for walk ins - they take names starting at 5pm but the (outdoor) line forms far earlier (I was #5 in line when I arrived at 4:15 on a late August Saturday and got a 6:15 seating for 3, but could've sat immediately at the bar). Your whole party must be present to sit but isn't needed to put your name in - they'll give you a planned seating time and text you if you can come earlier (you can wander while you wait). There's also standing room and a few seating areas in the lounge by the bar where you can have a drink while you wait - a server comes around this area so you don't have to squeeze in to order at the bar itself. Great cocktails, mocktails, & wine. Thank you Fore Street for all the great meals & memories, I hope you never close :)Parking: Limited street parking - try the hub furniture paid lot across the street if you can snag a spot or you can always park in a garage nearby
