What really sold me was learning they have stand up comedy and bands. And the owner Lin came out to greet us. Let me explain something here, its rare to find an owner who is the master chef to take the time to greet customers at their table and answer questions. She tells me they have a challenge with eating a wing. You get one single wing super hot and spicy its roughly a level 15 as oppose to the level 10 you find in menu. It's free, it's just for fun. And there are rules. No water for 6 minutes. And have to eat every part of that wing except the bone. So I took the challenge, I announced to all guest to feel free on my challenge and come watch. Why not? Let's make this more fun and others can see. Now take into consideration I just ate 6 level 10 wings just before jumping to level 15 challenge. My eyes were already on fire. But hey let's take a higher challenge. I started eating it. I devoured it. I licked all my fingers clean. Bartender was like Wow he is even licking up the sauce. Then I said level 15 this was easy. But remember 6 minutes. About 4 minutes after, I was on fire, my eyes flared up, bags under eyes were just crazy flared. I had endless tears dripping, mouth on fire. But I was okay. The flavor was awesome. My wife laughing, guests laughing, I was just having a good time being center of attention. 6 minutes finally reached. I slammed lots of water. Got free ice cream which was also very tasty. I survived. Will definitely go back without a doubt. My only concern was the beer selection was not so good. Domestic beers except for one in particular which is Red "something " don't recall the full name. Authentic: apparently most popular in the Philipines. But I'm an IPA fan. I was hoping for Hopknot or Tower Station or Voodoo Ranger. But nope just domestic. Otherwise fantastic experience.
I'd like to go back and make a record of that challenge and see if I can eat 10 of them. This way the challenge becomes an even bigger challenge for someone else.
Rodney Dangerfield is famous restaurant owner before he made fame in Hollywood. Thing that made him famous was greeting each table with kindness and telling jokes and making his customers feel welcomed. Lin didn't tell jokes but she certainly had the charm. Definitely worth checking this place out. "This is not a paid review" We was the evening of 9/27/2024 before the night got started. We would of stayed but unfortunately I had to work early Saturday morning.
