In a town flooded with pizzerias and restaurants, one clearly stands out for me , my family and friends. It is Espo’s Pizzeria & Italian Grille. It is so much more than your typical pizzeria. Espo’s excels in everything they create, and the flavors of all their amazing dishes including their pizzas, make you pass the rest and drive straight to the best and that my friends is found at Espo’s. Conveniently located and family run by the absolute nicest people I’ve ever met, they pour their hearts and souls and amazing talents into their food and serve it with great pride and a mile wide smile. I’ve been a loyal customer now for going on 14 years since leaving North Jersey 18 years ago, and craving real pizza and Italian dinner dishes. The dinner dishes alone are reminiscent of those found in fancy Italian restaurants not strip mall located pizzerias. The soups and rice balls are my daughters favorites, and never ever go home without a freshly prepared cannoli filled right before your eyes. Not in the mood for Italian food? No problem Espo’s burgers are colossal in size and especially flavor. My other favorite is the Italian Hot dog which Espo’s sticks to the strict unwritten code of being served in a half round pizza bread and stock filled with goodness like all those I ate from my days up in Newark, NJ.
One thing I judge pizzerias on is the flavor of their crust, which I’m a stickler on due to my love of bread. Sauce is another thing huge on my list. Is it too sweet, too watery oily and thin, or is it flavorful with a blend of tomatoes and seasonings? Athena first time I went to Espo’s, Anthony gave me a sample of their secrets family recipe sauce in a cup and my eyes lit up and my palate awoke. That my friends is what made them stand out from the rest. Their portions are huge, prices even with today ever increasing rising costs are extremely affordable given the amount of food you receive and we’ve always had leftovers. Then here’s my final comment, that being the people there are so happy waiting and welcoming to prepare for you their creations to make your day a happier one and your belly full. Espo’s treats everyone like family and always leaves me and my family smiling out the door!
