2 stars is anunfair rating. I have always had a five star experience "EVERY VISIT" I have had here. Until.today August 23, 2024.I first became familiar with Eatzi's a little over a month ago. I work at Preston & Royal. And, came in for a sandwich. When I saw the "make your own salad & sandwich bar..." i was amazed, impressed and overwhelmed. I was so excited I created a beautiful but horrible unedible sandwich. I came in the next day & ordered a half roasted chicken dinner. After explaining my experience to the on duty manager....she deducted the price of the sandwich from my meal. I felt special. I felt like a valued costumer. It was a warm and welcoming experience. I vowed to return. The next day I was in the mood for a sandwich but, dare not build my own. The pre-made spicy Italian on a hoagie roll was my choice. I requested extra lettuce & tomatoes...I was directed to the build your own sandwich bar & I was given lettuce, tomatoes & onions as a courtesy to complete & compliment my sandwich. This made me happier. My experiences kept getting better & better. so daily i would come in order my sandwich w/ extra lettuce & tomatoes on the side. I would joke with cooks, cashiers & juicers.... it was my rutual. Coming in to Eatzi's always made my day better.Today was different. Very Very different. Sandwich maker charged me $1.75 for lettuce & tomatoes. I did not agree. but, excepted the charge. When I got to the cashier I saw no familiar faces. I complained to the cashier & she informed a manager who implied I was stealing for not paying in the past. I mentioned the build your own sandwich bar allowed multiple toppings. The general manager then stepped in and basically said my past experiences went against Eatzi's policy... he also stated that he would talk to prior managers and staff who had interaction with me. For lack of a better term... I felt like very bad. I am not a valued guest. I honestly felt like a second class citizen. Do I come back when the hospitable workers are there to receive above standard costumer service? Or, Do I not return? Will the people who treated me well be reprimanded for extending courtesies to me?The manager and general manager spoke to me in a disrespectful and condescending manner. I purchased the sandwich. I left the lettuce and tomatoes. when I got to work I warmmed the sandwich in the oven. Normallyi would add the extra lettuce & tomatoes. But, not today. Maybe I am being petty? But, the fact is, I was embarrassed and humiliated. I was treated poorly. The sad part is it was over lettuce and tomatoes.Update: I wentin 8/24/2024 There are no pre-made sandwiches.
