There are plenty of five star reviews for this place and I can understand their reasoning, but for all the niceties and pleasant atmosphere this place has, only one thing ruined the experience for me. The owner. Lee Peters came off as a nice enough man, soft spoken. He seemed the nervous type though and upon my arrival he refused to accept my money, said we could get "squared away later" That alone should have set off some red flags. Perhaps he lacked the confidence to ask for my money upfront or for some other unknown reason. I had wanted to pay him for two weeks in advance but the man waved me off when I reached for my wallet. We stood there awkwardly, he asked some questions about me. Where I work, how long I am in town, what time do I come back from work. After I answered all his questions, we shook hands and he left. A few days later he comes by my trailer and he asks the same questions, another red flag. Had he forgotten that we had met before? I'm not sure but this time I write my name and phone number down for him. Again he refuses my money. "We can get squared away later" he said to me again. A couple weeks pass by. This was the third time I met the man and he knocks on my door and asks me "Do you know why I'm here?" He asked in a sort of accusatory tone. "No? Not this time" I replied, confused. "Well you've been staying here a month already and you haven't paid a dime!" He said angrily. This was the moment I realized something was wrong with him. "I've tried to pay you, am I confused...we've spoken before and.." but before I could finish my sentence he leaned forward and through clenched teeth he says "I OWN THIS PLACE!" I told him I still had $200 that I had set aside for him since day 1. "$200? You owe me 600 already!" (This was not true, I had not been there a month yet and the summer rate is $500 for a 50amp connection). It was clear he was becoming aggressive with me and were it not for his age I would have felt threatened enough to defend myself. I told him that we had spoken before and that he wanted us to get squared away later and as soon as I said that his entire demeanor changed. He became quiet and nervous once more and I gave him what I had on me (roughly half of what I owed for the 26 days I had been there so far) and I gave him the rest the next day. In the end I don't know what came over him but if you lack the intestinal fortitude to do business then maybe it's best you either hire someone to collect for you or find a different profession. I'm happy for the other people who had a good experience but I work long hours and I never get to see my family. The last thing I needed was to deal with this man and whatever issues he may have.
