Okay these are probably the most legit (& satisfying!) tacos I've found in Austin thus far. Austin seems to be awash in tacos. Some are okay, some are sub-par, and many are very expensive for what you get... CJ's doesn't fall into any of these categories. The tacos were generous, balanced, dynamic, flavorful, and satisfying. I only had the corn tortillas because that's the style I prefer: and they were delectable. I read somewhere that they are homemade or handmade, and I believe it. The birria seems to be their specialty, and I'd recommend it for sure. It's beef and not goat, but this is also my preference & it didn't disappoint. To balance it out I ordered their veggie taco & it was freaking awesome. The crispy fired avocado had a sumptuous, nutty flavor with accents of chunky mango salsa, and crisp freshness of chopped cabbage. I'm not vegetarian, but I'd be totally stoked and fulfilled eating these exclusively all day. The staff was warm & gracious and they seemed to appreciate my enthusiasm and authentic compliments. CJ's is worth visiting, even if you're in a different part of town.
