2 *’s… 1 for decent fries and another for having a cool atmosphere. Here’s the story…While the atmosphere might be cool that is about all this place has to offer. Our lunch started out fine but then it all went downhill. First I ordered a certain type of beer (which was on the menu) the bartender/waitress brought out the wrong kind. When I questioned it she said that they may not have the one I ordered and after fumbling around she said they didn’t have it because of some distribution issue. She stated the one she brought me was “similar” to the one I ordered though. I didn’t think it was and I didn’t care for it. Anyway, not a huge deal. It seemed like she was the only one working and I understand she’s trying to run the place. Moving on, we ordered our food which was put in wrong and we had to wait for them to bring the correct sandwich out. The food was horrendous. We had the “prime rib” sandwich and Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The prime rib didn’t even look like prime rib and it was so thin and dry I could barely eat it. Not to mention, it only had 3 small slices on it with a garlic butter spread that was basically a thin mound of smashed looking white stuff (see pictures). Not worth $15.89 at all! The fries were decent, I’ll give them that. The ranch dressing and the horseradish was quite watery but edible. Now for the Nashville hot chicken… First of all, it looked NOTHING like the picture on the internet. Which was disappointing because it looked great and that was actually why we chose to eat here. There were two large pieces of chicken but it had this sauce poured all over it (not tossed like the picture would lead one to believe) that tasted like… a marinara sauce mixed with some kind of hot sauce. Disgusting… I’ve been to Nashville and have had their hot chicken… this was not even close! Other than it being chicken, a sandwich and spicy, it was nothing like a Nashville hot chicken. It’s safe to say we will not be back. If you want an alright Nashville hot chicken sandwich, go to Rookies a little down the road and if you want a good steak sandwich, go to River Street Tavern Bar and Grill in Dundee.
