Went here for New Year’s Eve with a good friend of mine for their dinner special, three course meal. Everything from the service to the food was horrible. We were very rushed way under the two hour time limit to less than the one and a half hour time limit and the food was cold, old and overcooked, especially the filet mignon steak. They didn’t even have what they were promoting on the fixed priced menu stating that they ran out of the other steak option and it was only 8:30 pm so we had to have the filet mignon without the lobster tail with the extra side helping of the mashed potatoes that they had to substitute since we weren’t getting the lobster nor did we want the lobster. The mashed mess of potatoes were cold and extremely spicy and did not taste like they were freshly mashed potatoes, the vegetables were not fresh as well, and they were hard as a rock and cold. Nothing came out hot and warm, and just like the food, the service was equally cold. Our waitress was not accommodating, but pretended to be especially at the end when we asked if we could get separate checks and she made a big fuss about it and we had to figure out how she split the checks and she put the bill higher on one than the other, even though we had the same exact meal, so it was a disaster because when we were leaving, she chased us down and was aggressively complaining about a tip when the tips were already included. This place nor her didn’t even deserve a 20% tip, but we did out of the kindness of our hearts, but what they should’ve done was refunded our entire meal for the treatment and the lack of fresh food that they gave us, which ended up getting me sick for three days straight. Equally un appealing was that horrible smell in the Christmas room where we were seated it smelled like mothballs, must and mold, combined into one big mess and was turning off our appetite as well. I was so humiliated because I was telling my friend that a family member recommended this place many years ago when I’ve always wanted to try it, but I can assure you I will never be back here even if they were serving free food I would not go back based on our horrible experience Cava takes the C out of class in a nutshell. 1. I came here for Valentine's Day. I was surprised at the fact that we were sat in a room filled with Christmas decorations. We saw a lot of very nice decorations, but did not expect to be staring at a life size Beast model (Beauty and the Beast) from across my table which was sitting between tons of Christmas trees. It really just ruined what I wanted to be a Valentine's Day atmosphere. I mean, you couldn't have swapped them out? The entire restaurant is disjointed and basically uses the static decorations to make themselves seem more atmospheric than I think people would imagine. It feels very tacky. 2. Not necessarily their fault, but parking is a nightmare on a night like this. Expect to go a few rounds around the lot (which is already tight adn with the restaurant right off the highway, it was really difficult to do anything). 3. We waited 10 minutes to get water. We also were never really introduced to our server. We didn't even know his name. I understand you are busy, but you had 4 hostesses standing at the front the entire night. Distribute the work load a but better. 4. While I think the food was good, I guess their philosophy is to not season things that should be. I had a surf and turf and the steak could have used some salt and the boiled or steamed vegetables could have used literally anything. There was nothing on them. Expect to have to ask for salt and pepper. 5. I can't imagine the bathroom I went to is not the only one, but it was the only one i was directed to. It was one stall, and one urinal. The stall was so dark you probably couldn't tell where you were urinating. Please fix your lights. You also had a few hundred people in there. You better have additional bathrooms. 6. The entire place is cramped and staff move at a mile a minute. They need to slow down and you need to install spherical mirrors at intersections or else someone is going to get their teeth knocked out and I hope they get a lot of money from you. 7. Attached are some pictures of how our food was packed. Cake was shoved into a box, ruining it, and the food was sticking out. Overall 3/5, do not recommend for spending well over $100 a person.
