*** Update After 2nd Try ***
As promised we gave Capitol Pizza another try! This time we went with basic pepperoni on one half and pepperoni, sausage, and jalapeño on the other half. We ordered an XL pizza...and WOW, it was an enormous pizza! We had to place the box on the floor because we didn't have enough space to place it on our table (take it we live in an apartment with a small dining room table)!
I have to say this second time-around did not disappoint. These guys don't skimp on the toppings, the entire pizza was evenly covered and looked picture perfect, ready for that prime time TV commercial! The crust was thin towards the center and at the edge was crispy and flavorful.
Pizza did come out a bit pricey at about $30 but it did feed our family of 3 for 3 meals, so it definitely went the distance (Yooo Adrian!). We also did use a coupon code that they left by our door along with a nice little fridge magnet calendar...nifty!
Capitol Pizza will be our local pizza joint for the foreseeable future, would like to see some more deals come out of the Thornton location since we are limited with good pizza choices in the North Metro area.
Great job Capitol Pizza!

I’ve passed this pizza place many times on my way back home from work so today we decided to give it a try. We ordered the pepperoni blowout, upon picking up the pizza, I was pretty amazed at the amount of pepperoni!!! This actually had be a bit excited I must admit.
Upon getting home and having a couple of slices, we came to the conclusion that it was “Okay”. The pepperoni was indeed a blowout, and a complete overpowering flavor. I did notice the pizza sauce was heavy on the oregano, and by heavy I mean...at times I could taste the oregano above the pepperoni!!! The pizza crust also left something to be desired. And I could feel the cheese but could not taste it at all.
I think it is a great idea having a “pepperoni lovers” option but there’s no balance of flavor or texture. Maybe trying a mix of provolone cheese and mozzarella, a sweeter pizza sauce with a crispier crust could be another experiment. I will definitely give this place another try though, try a basic cheese or regular pepperoni just to get a baseline and see how they do the basics. I’m not giving up on you yet Capitol Pizza!
