I frequently visit this restaurant, but my experience on September 27 at 8pm was exceptionally disappointing. I ordered a pasta dish and a dessert for takeout, but when I arrived, I was informed by the young male employee at the takeout counter that there was a mix-up in the kitchen. He said my pasta order was made incorrect, so he had put in a request for a remake and told me it would take about 10 minutes.After waiting for a considerable amount of time, a lady came into the takeout area with her meal and mentioned to the employee that she had received the wrong order—clearly mine! The staff member looked confused for a moment, then acknowledged the mix-up he made and offered me the meal she had already taken home and opened if I didn’t want to wait. I was completely shocked that someone in the food business would even consider doing something like that. I politely declined and continued to wait for my remake.What was weird was that the lady who came in after me received her remake much faster than I did, and she was able to leave before I even got my food. Finally, after waiting for 25 minutes, my pasta was ready. The same worker handed it to me in a bag, and when I asked about my dessert, he shrugged and simply handed it to me without putting it in the bag. Then, I had to remind him about the ice cream that was supposed to come with the dessert. I also requested bread, napkins, and utensils over the phone when I placed my order. However, when I arrived at the restaurant and paid, the employee didn't provide them until I asked again. When I finally got home and opened my dessert, I discovered that it didn’t have the rainbow chips I had specifically requested.Overall, this experience was horrible. The takeout staff at the Marina del Rey location could greatly benefit from training in hygiene and customer service practices. I strongly recommend visiting the Manhattan Beach location instead, where the service is much better.
