This place is the perfect mix between rustic and foodie. They only have locally sourced food in all of their dishes.Whether you get the coffee, the waffles, the biscuits or anything else, you’ll enjoy it every time.I got the bronco and was very pleased with the country fried steak and the biscuit.Take a stroll in downtown rockwall after you finish your meal, the downtown is very walkable and then you feel less bad about how much you just ate! :)

I was just in there today and I ordered the migas… I have never went anywhere to a restaurant where if ask to remake they remakeThis lady in a moomoo with a hat who refused to give me her name because I told her I will not pay for an item I did not eat.Becca the waitress WONDERFUL and when I had asked her about the sour cream she was like no problem we will remake and then the mgr came and told me she was going to charge me for that plate or she won’t serve me? And she responded it’s their policy and I asked her to show me. Because in my profession - show me where that said and I’ll honor it. She replies their website.. I proceed to look at the website and took screen shots. No where does it say they don’t remake food? When I informed her of this she got annoyed and said you can just pay for your coffee but I am not serving you. I said that’s fine. And me being in the field I am plus a Christian woman I did not yell nor did I argue or be rude but I am not a nice personI am a kind and good person. And I believe in doing what is right.Def do not recommend anymore due to the lady in the hat/moomoo

Came in a little after 12pm on Saturday, got seated right away, wasn't too busy. Our server, I think her name was Ariana or Adriana, was very kind & friendly and made some very good recommendations since it was our first time here. My husband got blueberry pancakes with bacon, eggs and an extra side of sausages. I got Vera's famous biscuits(regular). Both meals are delicious, pancakes were soft and fluffy and generous with blueberries, bacon is cooked well and crispy. Biscuits were huuuge, soft and fluffy, and the gravy- omg- delicious! They don't skimp on the gravy for sure and they add in large chunks of sausage. I loved every single bite. Def would come back!!

Very lovely place, with a nice atmosphere, and a little above average food, presentation of the food was nice, and the coffee was very tasteful, there is plenty of room for improvement in the customer service area, the waitress seem very overwhelmed, probably understaffed, or maybe they can use some more training.This is coming from a former bar owner, and with many years in the hospitality business.

The food here was absolutely amazing! We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back to try other delicious foods. However, we did have to wait quite a while to be seated. We expected a long wait for a Saturday morning, however, there were several booths and tables consistently open that no one was being seated at. We only had a party of 2 so we expected to get seated much faster than we did. Especially when we were eyeing all the empty booths that we perfect for just 2 people. Not sure if they didn't have enough staff to clear the tables quickly or not, but it was a little disappointing. Again, the food was delicious though. We had the patty melt and the one-eyed-Willie along with their famous fries. I would also recommend their apple cider. It was the PERFECT remedy for a cold rainy day!

In town visiting and decided to eat here for the food and coffee options. Our party of 4 was definitely not disappointed! Hannah was out server and she was great and so helpful with her suggestions. Our coffees were hot and tasty…and our breakfasts were the perfect serving sizes and we didn’t feel stuffed afterwards.We returned every morning if our stay and truly enjoyed all that we ordered.

My friend and I decided to break out of the normal locations that we usually hit for lunch and give this place a try. First of all I'm in love with the aesthetics here-so casually beautiful. It is such a nice place to sit and enjoy time with your friends.Our waiter came to our table a number of times before we looked at the menu and he was so patient with us. We told him we would flag him down when we were ready for our order and he was so receptive and kind.Once we finally decided what we were going to eat (patty melt and fries), the food was just delicious! This was the perfect splurge options during a stressful week.We will definitely be back again!

Went in early Sunday, chill and quiet. Our waiter was kind & helpful as it was our 1st time visiting. Started with a caramel cappuccino, which was amazing! Then tried the biscuits, which were just as delicious. Hubby got l chicken & waffle meal & I opted foe the Rachel, which did not disappoint. Definitely will be back!..We'll done folks!

Wedding anniversary brunch! The coffee selection is delicious! However my food was too salty to continue eating under the shaved meat with sautéd peppers and onions, I didn’t care for. Will try the fries & mixed cheeses alone next time and ask for less salt! Husband enjoyed basic toast jam eggs sunny side up with sausages (not pictured). We split the mimosa flight - tasty selection of flavors without complaints. Definitely will be back to try some basics; many more dishes that sound great to try out. 🥹

My granddaughter from Austin found this great breakfast/lunch place, just off the Rockwall Square in downtown. The food is scrumptious and they take reservations, so you don't have to wait. I love the Oui Oui French Toast with eggs and bacon and she had the country fried steak and eggs, with a biscuit and gravy. I had my coffee with Texas Bourbon hot with a pretty little swan artistry, and she had hers on ice. Can't wait to go back.

Super cute place for breakfast, brunch and lunch! On a whim I decided to try the herbivore sandwich. Don’t sleep on it!! The garlic confit, rosemary roasted carrots, white cheddar, and spinach all on a homemade pretzel roll was a stellar combo. The carrots were shredded which gave it a “sloppy Joe” feel, and with the garlic OMG so good. A lot of their condiments seemed to be homemade too which is rare to find and so appreciated. Lots of egg-free options on the breakfast menu which is what inspired me to want to try this spot out in the first place. Service was quick and really friendly, too. Loved coming here and can’t wait to get back one day!

Cute lite cafe on the square. Staff is always so laid back and pleasant. Food is top notch. The "Oui Oui French Toast" keeps calling my name and luring me back for more. The craft coffee... Well, we won't talk about my addiction to those 😆 do yourself a favorite, and go try them out. You might want to make a reservation though, because I'm not the only one who thinks they 'hung the moon'...they can get pretty popular, especially at peak times.Shout out to our server Lindsey today, I took my mom & sister in law in to visit for the first time and she was super sweet & patient with them.Dietary restrictions: They seemed to have plenty of options for different dietary needs/desires including GF & veg.Parking: Plenty of parking, but you may have to walk a bit to get to the front door.

Cute little spot. Maybe add some music. Delightful service. Noah is knowledgeable about the menu and answered our first-time questions with patience and grace. The omlette with the stomp and O.G. pancake with added berries tastes delicious. Want to try lots more on the menu. Don't skip out on the baked goods made fresh daily. We met the baker who customized her dad's chocolate chip recipe to a yummy chewy treat. Give them a try.

I was hesitant on the night shift fries, but boy oh boy I was glad we ordered them. So delicious. Willing to make the drive from Dallas for it. We also ordered the Rocky’s Cheesesteak, J rock style was so absolutely fire. Patrick was an incredible server and my mimosa never went empty. He had such a joy about him and always had a smile.

Let me start off saying that the service is fantastic- this was the best part of the restaurant. Stopped in between appointments wanting to catch up on emails and have a working lunch break. No WiFi ?I can make do so no problem…just odd. I ordered the club- (more like a ham, cheese, bacon sandwich) Not toasted and no middle bread slice which I thought was a staple of a club sandwich. Extra charge for fries instead of chips…. Also thought that was kind of odd.Mayo is more of a sweet aioli. Not a fan.Flight of mimosas was good and priced well.Atmosphere was noisy and not bothersome but not cozy which is what I was expecting. 21.00 for a mediocre sandwich and mimosa flight. A 1/2 sandwich and soup combo would be a nice addition.Didn’t see a book in sight. Not what I was expecting.Maybe the vibe is different at night. I probably won’t try to find out.

I had the burger, the bun was very soft and tasty, apparently they make their own bread. The bacon was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was casual. They have specialty coffees, including Italian espresso and macchiato. They have breakfast in the afternoon as well as sandwiches, burgers and salads. It was a peaceful lunch on the square.

The food here is great for its price, but drinks are on the higher end for what you get. The pigstomper omelette is great, but getting a side of hot sauce definitely helps enhance the flavors in the dish. The french toast and their other breaded dishes are on the heavier side as they like to make thicker breads, so I wouldn’t recommend them if you’re looking for something light and easy on the stomach. The roasted almond tea is pleasant for not only its taste but it’s color 🌸

Absolutely excellent! The wait staff was very polite and attentive. The food is exceptional and high quality. This is the kind of place that's hard to find when you're traveling. It feels like you're surrounded by chain after chain, all filled with cheap, low quality food.I ordered the chicken and waffles and added on eggs and bacon. Everything was made in house and it showed. I wish I had spent the time to research it out for yesterday's breakfast as well.The coffee is also on point. I had an americano and ended up ordering another one to go. So good!

Quick wait for a table and the food was delicious. I really liked the way the dishes were set up, with 2 steps so it could be customized to your preference. There were a few vegetarian items or dishes that could be modified.The coffee bar in the lobby was nice to do you could get a drink while waiting. I was kind of sad my latte didn't get served in a cute cup but it made sense since we were standing.Vegetarian options: There was an option for vegetarian on a few items but no meat alternatives.

Popped in for lunch and to get some work done. I love supporting small business, but I did not enjoy my experience here. I was expecting a bit more of a coffee shop vibe, but this is all restaurant, which is fine. I ordered the bottomless coffee when I first arrived but it never came. I got the Far King Patty Melt with fries. The fries were pretty good, but the burger was rough. And I love that they use local, organic ingredients "as much as possible", but $18 before tax and tip for a burger and fries, I do expect it to be good. Then I had wanted to post up with the bottomless coffee and get some work done on my laptop while enjoying the coffee that never came, but they didn't even have wifi and the phone signal was really slow in this old building. So I couldn't even hotspot. I suppose if I were to come again, I'd come with the thought that it's just a stop for a quick bite to eat and maybe try something else on the menu.

As always, this restaurant is a 5/5. The coffee is to die for, and if you decide to dine in they’ll always give you a really pretty design on it. The food is always good and blends well together. Our servers are always nice and make sure we get taken care of. I love this place, it’s been a favorite of mine for years, and I have not once had any issues eating here.UPDATE: went there on 2/25/24. Ordered the man-eating chicken, realized it was way too hot. I only took one bite out of it. I asked for a remake and it was either the manager or the owner who came out and told me that they “made it properly” so if I wanted one without the hot sauce I’d have to pay for a new one. I basically paid 17.50 for fries the first time. I’d understand if I ate the entire sandwich, but I only had one bite. Overall, servers were great but the management sucks. Won’t be back for a while.

My first visit to this little gem in old downtown Rockwall! We had “The Betty” which is two eggs, bacon and a pancake (we substituted the pancake for a biscuit with gravy). The food was really good, the meats were locally sourced (which I’m a fan of) and the breads are made in-house daily. The building is has a very rustic down home feel, the atmosphere is pretty casual with a friendly staff. Overall great experience, plus I’ve heard they have an awesome lunch menu, which I’m going to have to come back and try. Oh, another cool feature is, they have a TV steaming pictures of their foods to where you can have a visual of what you are ordering before you order!

Overall, I love this place for its brew and very easy yet tasty menu! It’s a unique twist of modern home style cooking with a liberal feel. I rated a four due to my personal experiences with some of the staff/feel of the venue as a woman of color — it’s obvious someone who looks like me is not there often. But even with that most waitresses I’ve had have been very sweet and very informative.Their biscuits are THE best!

This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had, all because of the rude woman managing the restaurant. She had short dark brown hair and was unpleasant from the start. While we were waiting to be seated, she snapped at us when we asked how much longer the wait would be. Instead of being polite, she gave us attitude, like we were an inconvenience for even asking.Throughout the day, her behavior was just as awful. We could hear her speaking disrespectfully to other customers and even to her own staff. On top of that, the pastries we were served at the table were incredibly stale and barely edible. It was clear they were not fresh, and for the price we paid, the quality was unacceptable.I won’t be coming back, and I highly recommend avoiding this place if you don’t want to deal with a rude manager and subpar food. Overall, a terrible experience from start to finish.

LC Container loves to have brunch here. This is a go to place on the weekends for brunch, coffee, pastries, baked goods, omelettes hamburgers, chicken fried steak you name it this place has it all far the table and great coffee. The atmosphere is awesome and we love seeing what newflavors of danishes they’re going to put out as well as their biscuits and homemade jam. My kids love to come here and enjoy the atmosphere.

Went in to sit down for a minute to sign some things and I sat down and immediately was told to leave since they are a restaurant. Sure didn’t seem inviting at all. They have a sign that says wait to be seated but no one was at the front door seating people. I was going to be 5 mins and they said I couldn’t sit. There was 3 people in the place so it had plenty of room for one person to just hang out for a sec. Thanks book club. I guess you need to be a member of the club to go in there

The nameless “Manager” strikes again.Short story… not good food and terrible management. We will not return.Long story... Keep reading.The wait time was not too bad considering the farmer’s market was going on. We were seated and are waitress Hannah was very nice and very thorough with our order. Making sure we knew all the options and were getting exactly what we wanted. I ordered the Rueben sandwich and my girlfriend ordered the breakfast that was simple eggs, bacon and toast. When the food arrived it looked good, BUT it was not. The bread on the Rueben was not toasted the pastrami had a really odd taste to it and the minced sauerkraut was cold like it just came out of the fridge causing the pastrami to be lukewarm at best. I said “this is a terrible sandwich”. My girlfriend said “send it back”. I thought I could power through it. Then I remembered I was paying $18.00 for a sandwich and it kind of needed to be good so I told Hannah the problem and asked if she could send it back and bring me the Bacon Spinach Tomato Sandwich thinking it would be a quick and easy substitute. She said “no problem”. BUT, here is where the problem started. I saw her telling the “Manager”, who had done nothing the whole time we were there other than stand at the hostess stand, about the problem. I guess instead of choosing to take charge of the situation, as a good manager would, she chose to have Hannah return to the table and inform me that the two bites I took out of the sandwich disqualified me from returning it because they don’t refund anything that you have eaten more than 25% of. Then Hannah told me that she would remove the sandwich from my bill even though she would have to pay for it. This really bothered me. Not only was the manager too self-involved to be there for her wait staff but she also requires them to cover the poorly prepared food from the kitchen. This struck me as simply ridiculous. Then, after sitting there for about 15 minutes waiting for the replacement sandwich I started to become even more irritated thinking about the whole thing. Hannah had stopped by the table a couple of times during this wait to let us know the kitchen was working on it. I finally went to the Hostess stand and told the manager to cancel the new sandwich and charge me for what we had ordered so we could go. I told her I thought the treatment was very rude and I didn’t think it was right that Hannah had to “take care of the me by paying for the original sandwich”. The last time Hannah stopped by she was in tears. I don’t know what the manager had told her but now I was mad. We told Hannah none of the issue was her fault and her “Manager’s” attitude and lack of involvement was to blame. Then the manager proceeds to bring the new sandwich to the table and I told her I did not want it. She looked at me and said “what do you want me to do with this?”. I told her again just bring me the bill and I will pay for what we ordered because I didn’t want Hannah to have to pay for any of it. Another 10 or 15 minute went by and no bill. Finally, Hannah came by again and said she had no idea what was going on because nobody was telling her anything. I told her to just bring me the bill and charge me for whatever needed to be paid for so that she did not have to cover any of it. She did, and they charged me for all of it, even the untouched sandwich. I paid the bill and left Hannah a 30% tip to make sure she didn’t think she had done anything wrong. I am not sure how the woman that is managing this place ended up in that position but she should not be. A good manager is there for their staff, putting ego and attitude aside and taking the customer service role so that the staff can do their jobs. This woman clearly does not understand how to manage a restaurant or deal with people.

My daughter made a reservation for brunch to celebrate her birthday with 13 friends. I didn't think I needed a seperate reservation for the parents to sit at a seperate table and I walked in and was told they couldn't seat us for another hour. Talk about horrible customer service. You want me to pay for a table of 13 but you cannot accommodate the parents?! Meanwhile, there were 4 people standing in the waiting area and 6 four top tables open. For mediocre food, this was enough that I'll never visit again. You guys need a lesson in customer service.
