Going to Bern’s Steak House is an experience one won’t easily forget! We went on a Wednesday and it was fully packed, super busy, and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Unfortunately our server left much to be desired, he would forget drinks, messed up our orders (wrong soup, wrong salad, forgot wine tasters) and it truly felt like he wasn’t listening to us. It was very disappointing as this restaurant isn’t cheap.
The steak itself was very very good, and we enjoyed the French onion soup. We requested table side Caesar salad but received premade salad, which wasn’t very good anyway. I noted majority of guests ordered the house salad and would probably get that next time. Was it the best meal I’d ever had? Definitely not. It’s a classic steakhouse vibe and the meat is treated well, but everything else is kind of traditional, it was good, but I think you go for the experience, not just the food.
We did the tour of the kitchen and wine cellar, which was very cool. And then we did dessert in their upstairs restaurant, which is a crazy maze of circular booths, has a live piano player who took requests on a telephone, and we had great desserts and coffee to finish off the meal.
