We recently visited Banana Leaf restaurant on a Saturday afternoon around 2:30 PM. The rush was manageable, and it took about 20 minutes to get a seat.
As vegetarians, we tried the following dishes: Grilled Pineapple Salad, Roti Prata, Green Curry Vegetables, Pahd Thai Noodles, Basil Fried Rice, Black Sticky Rice with Mango, and Pandan Leaf Panna Cotta.
Here’s our take on the food:
The Grilled Pineapple Salad, Roti Prata, and Green Curry Vegetables were delicious and full of flavor.
The Basil Fried Rice was disappointing, as it lacked the strong basil flavor you’d expect from the name.
The Black Sticky Rice with Mango was underwhelming—it wasn’t sweet enough for a dessert. I’m not sure if this is the usual preparation, but I expected more sweetness.
The Pandan Leaf Panna Cotta was a standout dessert and definitely worth trying!
The food arrived quickly, which was a plus. However, one thing to note is the 18.5% service charge applied even for a group of 4 people, which felt a bit steep.
Overall, a decent dining experience with some hits and misses. #BananaLeafRestaurant #VegetarianFood
