Authentic in every way. Having dined at Noma, Gaggan and many other Michelin 3-star restaurants, I wish Archipelago could get its stars.
What makes visiting Archipelago special is the small atomosphere. They have bar seating for up to 8 people. Then a table which will take four. You feel cozy and open to talking to other guests. It has a similar vibe and setup if you have been to Ox in Reykjavik. You see everything prepared right before you, which is great to see the attention to detail.
My wife and I enjoyed the 5:30 p.m. seating, and the spring menu had just started. Each dish was on point, but the juice pairing with each dish stood out. I highly recommend that one person in your party get the juice pairing and the other the wine pairing.
Before each dish was served, a story was told about its connection to a historical figure in the Filipino community in the Seattle area. It is a lovely way to connect food to the local community.
Finally, a goodbye dessert was given, a fantastic donut to go with your morning coffee. Yummy!
