Main focus is petrified wood and fossils. It is interesting to see wood from different regions side by side. Amazingly large specimens! (Since others have posted photos of those, I'm posting one of a petrified pinecone... something that I'd never seen.)

Main focus is petrified wood and fossils. It is interesting to see wood from different regions side by side. Amazingly large specimens! (Since others have posted photos of those, I'm posting one of a petrified pinecone... something that I'd never seen.)
The museum is perfectly sized for an hour's unplanned drop-in visit. I also appreciated that you can just walk in and privately enjoy without engaging staff.
