Read MoreAnyone who loves haunted houses/attractions but hates the long lines and exorbitant cost MUST MUST MUST check out Zombie Farms! It is in Winterville GA (about 15 miles from UGA in Athens) so it feels as if it is in the middle of nowhere (which adds to the "spook factor") on family-owned land, the entire "spook house" is 100% outdoors, it includes a maze in the woods(and don't forget it's at night so it's pitch black out)and a visit to a story-teller(which resembles sitting around a campfire and telling ghost stories to get you in the mood for the attraction) then once your imagination is primed they set you on the trail through acres and acres of the haunted forest. The entire experience, haunted maze, storytelling, and the haunted forest took us 2 1/2 hours to complete and it is the most creative, innovative, and unexpected attraction I've ever experienced (I won't say more about it here so as not to spoil it for anyone)suffice to say, you will not be disappointed. This past Halloween (2024) was my 4th time and each time I've been it's been different and I've been impressed! They have a different theme each time so you will never know what to expect and it's always something new. Each time I've been it's gotten bigger, the layout is different, and the 'finale' is different. I guess what I'm trying to say is, they change it year to year so that it feels like your first time every time. Parking is all off-road, in the grass, with no gravel and asphalt (it is in a field on the same family-owned land ) so I wouldn't recommend taking any car that sits low to the ground if you can help it (there are lots of parking attendants there to direct traffic so it's not like you are on your own if your car got stuck) your best bet though is to drive a SUV or a truck. Zombie Farm is so unique and so different, in a good way that the experience far outweighs whatever possible hassle you may experience from the parking situation which is in all honesty; not ideal. Zombie Farm is out in the middle of nowhere, and you will feel as if you will never get there, but it is WELL WORTH the drive...there is no other haunted house/attraction like it (to my knowledge) anywhere in GA. It is 100% outdoors so dress accordingly!! I already can't wait to go next year....it is truly that good! You can pre-purchase tickets online and essentially walk right in. The only restrooms available are porta-potties so I recommend stopping before you get there to use the bathroom.
