You can start on the Oak Trail and head either East or SQ on the Wagon Trail where you might get lucky and see the famous Pileated Woodpecker. The dirt trails are abundant in this small park allowing birders, photographers, nature lovers the opportunity to see either Black Tailed Deer, Brush Rabbit, Chipmunk, Squirrels, Mink, Weasel and a host of small foraging birds.

I try to come here as often as possible to see what is achievable by capturing photos of the denizens in this fabulous little wooded oasis surrounded by Metropolis. The quietest place in the Park is perhaps on the Ponderosa Loop Trail half way in from either side.

Great to get your run in or a series of stiff walks and of course just to sit and listen to the chittering birds all gearing up for Spring and the laborious work of feeding their chicks.
-
I have been here through all 4 seasons and those times are all so different to one another.

Beaverton Wetlands is a short walk from the Parking lot and just south of the Nike buildings on Millican Way / Train tracks. There, you may see Bald Eagle, Osprey, Herons, migrating diving ducks, Cormorant along with woodpeckers and geese.

I highly recommend both places and get there early or there will be no parking.
THERE ARE "NO LAKES" only Ponds at this Nature Park. These Ponds will sometimes have Great Blue Heron, Kingfisher, Green Heron, Wood Ducks, Bufflehead Diving Ducks, Hooded Merganser Duck, Common Merganser, Mallard Duck, Cooper's Hawks and a host of Woodpeckers.
