Fun hike, with a pretty intensive uphill switchback climb in the early middle part of the climb. Amazing views of the Southeast and Northwest from the top.

4 mile out and back to Tom's Thumb, with plenty of shade at the top. The first 1.5m is all incline after the flats. The rock/gravel is loose as a woman fell today, so please be careful. The incline is gradual with switchbacks. The trail...Read More

This is a wonder filled place to explore our beautiful McDowell Sonoran Preserve. This is one of the more challenging places to hike. But you have the choice of moderate to difficult trails. Go explore and have fun.

A great assortment of hiking trails. Great views of Four Peaks, Weaver's Needle, & the Mazatzals. A lot of well presented geologic history. The Desert Poppies were blooming.

This is a dope spot outside of Scottsdale that is heavily foot-trafficked. Be prepared for lots of people and pups. Beautiful views all around though and it is a great spot for sunset. There are a couple walls if you’re into climbing as well.

We actually chose an easier hike as it was a hot day, and we started late (around 10am). I recommend starting as early as possible on a hot day. The trail we took had lots of interpretive signage.
HardOut-and-Back3-4 hrHikingPlenty of parkingFree parking lotNo water or restrooms at trailhead, so plan accordingly.Dogs are allowed on leash, but it gets hot, so they might need foot protection, and you will need to carry extra water for them.
