Sadly, As an avid museum goer and a New Yorker. This place not worth the $20 admission fee and the 35 mins I spent inside.
I went on a Monday, and the traffic was very light. There was no wait time to get in. I purchased a ticket a head of time just out of habit in NYC. You don’t need to buy tixs in advance unless you’re coming on a weekend.
This space has two floors, where the first floor is much larger than the second but there’s not a lot of art here. I’m a big fan of impressionist art and for one Monet painting and not a single Degas, Renoir or Manet. I was bummed.
There are three cool sections of this museum:
-German Expressionist
-William Gropper
-The Art of Portrait
These exhibits had very cool art and I just wish there was more. This museum fell short for me and I spent more time in the gift shop (which was awesome) than I did looking at the art.
The other sections are smaller than I’d expect. Enter at your own risk.
