A surprising find in the city. Not too far off the main walking path, it’s worth the detour. After all, how often do you get to see a NYC waterfall?

A nice recently redone with nice paths and lots of new plants. There are quite a few places to get close to the stream and take nice pictures.

A nice (and biggest?) of the few waterfalls in this Woodland. Difficult to get to close, but if you don't mind treading over a few big rocks you can find yourself a nice stone to relax on. Otherwise just take pics from a few feet away...Read More

Excellent for birders! Children too will love exploring this space in Central Park. Really cool area for romantics or lovers to find a semi-private shady area in the park but keep in mind & be aware that sometimes you'll run into a creep or two...Read More

I grew up near here and it was always my hidden place to go for a little quiet. Not many knew of it but the Internet changed all that. Still a peaceful, tranquil place to relax, one of the best spots in Central Park.

I had a wonderful peaceful day here doing photography at the waterfalls with my Nikon camera. Solitude is a wonderful thing.

You'll lose sight of the city scape, meandering along a stream, and spotting two famous arches, a waterfall and unparalleled forested beauty. Use cellphone for free guided tour.

The best place to go to escape the city for a little bit. It is almost as if you have hiked away from the city into a microcosm mountain range. Beautiful in winter

This hidden gem is up near the 110ts st entrance to the park. It's kind of hidden. Look for a path the feeds down into a tunnel.

One of my most FAVORITE places in the city. It's like you're not even in NYC.

A beautiful area, while it looks natural, it was planned—but just forget about that and enjoy.
