We had planned this trip in advance, so we had anticipated the cost of entrance, parking, and food.
The Experience: Although extremely hot, the park was not as busy as I was expecting. We could get to any ride within 30 minutes at most. This is where the all-day drink deal really pays off! On a day as hot as this, staying hydrated is key to standing for long periods without dying while waiting in line.
We are a family of 5, so this came with a price — over 100 dollars just in drinks.
Food: There was plenty of food and drinks available everywhere. The problem was the prices. If you do not buy the all-day food pass, then you are going to spend a looooot of money. Just as an example, a lifeless, sad foot-long corn dog was 18 dollars. Even on a bad day, street value is at most 8 dollars for one. On average, they are usually 3 to 5 bucks in a gas station — of course lacking in size but not lifeless. That's just one example of the over hundred items that are just pointlessly overpriced. For the most part, I agree that prices on the souvenirs be a little high, being that we are buying a memory and not just a shirt. But food? I would call that highway robbery.
Amenities: Well, there were cooling places as well as places to get wet, but the bathrooms were hard to find. They are not noticeable from a distance; I spent some time looking for one and got to a desperate point where I could not hold it in.
The bathrooms kept getting worse and worse as the day continued. I was walking on pee all over the floor at around 7:00 p.m. Gross!!
There were some uneven areas where I saw an old lady almost roll forward because it was not anticipated for the old lady. Thankfully, someone caught the old lady in time.
One last thing — I know people come from Hurricane Harbor, and of course, the weather was hot, so I get that there would be people with their swimming clothes at the park too. But some of them, worn by women, were hooker-like designs. At some point, we saw a woman in her late 50s with a white blouse but no bra, and her breast could be seen, as well as her nipples showing through. Of course, I am not going to post a picture of this, but the afternoon got wilder and wilder. Surprisingly, the double standard here — a man could never ever do this, ever. The world would end if he did. But not women. They can do so and no problem.
In conclusion, we love the park and the rides.
