Took my girls (11 and 8) to Shenaniganz yesterday, and here’s the rundown. They’ve got the usual—bowling, video games, laser tag, bumper cars—and the unusual—an escape room, pool tables, and VR experiences.
For Spring Break, they’re offering a $20 pass (until 4 PM) that includes unlimited bumper cars, laser tag, and the kid zone. Everything else? Extra.
The Good:
- Bumper Cars: They have six or seven total, but only three are high-tech. Those light up, spin 360° in every direction, and are not included in the unlimited pass. (Because, of course, the fun ones cost extra.)
-Laser Tag: Pretty standard, but my girls loved it.
- Kid Zone: Solid for younger kids, but I’d say age 11 is the cutoff.
- Aesthetics: Outside looks a little dated, but inside is clean and renovated.
The Meh
- VR “Games”: These aren’t actually games—more like virtual museum exhibits. You walk through an experience, but there are no challenges or objectives. Even the employees don’t recommend them. At $17.99 per person, I’d say skip it.
- Escape Room: It looked interesting, but to get to it, you have to walk through a bar. Maybe I’m wrong, but an escape room tucked behind a bar just screams adults only. Didn’t investigate further.
The Skippable
- Food: Standard overpriced bar food. We played for three hours, then went around the corner to Cane’s.
- Bowling & Video Games: Didn’t try them, but the bowling lanes seemed typical, and they had those kid-friendly guides to help with straight shots.
The Verdict
Was it fun? Yes. Was I blown away? Not really. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a family entertainment center—nothing more, nothing less. A solid backup plan if your first choice (like Urban Air, which opened too late for us) isn’t an option. Worth it for the $20 pass, but be ready to spend more if your kids want the “good” stuff.
