My son is autistic and has a particular interest in trains. On our way back home to Ohio, we stopped to check your city out but unfortunately the museum was closed and we couldn’t stay. In a pleasant turn of events, a very nice employee...Read More

Very interesting, it was so great to be able to go in the train cars and look around. The caboose was the best for me brought back great childhood memories. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Many items from a by gone era when trains...Read More

The Rails West Railroad Museum is awesome! They have the coolest model train that's setup to look like Council Bluffs of yesteryear. This museum is set up in the historic Rock Island Depot. This structure has been in this spot since 1899. There's an old...Read More

Em gave us a full tour of the museum including the train yard and the historic station and it was amazing. Felt very welcomed, safe, and accepted. Lots of cool local history to learn and resolve trains to see!

The equipment is very interesting. As Mike Wolfe says "crusty barn finds". The RPO was great. But they need better picnic tables. I would go again but not for lunch.

This was a really cool museum I've been waiting to go for a while but was never able to and then they had railroad days and there was a reason to go and I was glad that I did.
