Pontiac Lake is a beautiful campground. Well cared for, super friendly staff, and clean restrooms. The hiking is really great!

A great place for family time at either rhr campground side vs day use side with the beach. Campground has a lot of variety of campsite size and hook ups. Bathrooms are well kept but a little on the older side (seems like). Downside, very little...Read More
Plenty of picnic tables on the day use side with some shade options. Lots of field space for Frisbee, kicking the soccer ball around and games.

We tried to hike the 10 mile mountain bike trail. We don't know how to read maps and used our phones to take us on a detour so we didn't get lost. Ended up walking 8 miles total. We will definitely be back in the...Read More

Love the water and temp. Not freezing cold, or cold, it's luke warm. But the walk to the beach from your vehicle is a long hike. Also, it's hard to watch your kids in the water with the sun right in your face. Be sure...Read More
Not huge but it's ok. And it's separated, you got a slide on one, swings in the middle, it's just not all together. These are also a hike to get to, they are on the far right side of the beach. I searched all over and finally found where they were at.There is a fenced in area, pretty big for multiple dogs too be in, so that's cool.I see a lot of picnic tables in the grass all over. However I wish there were more shade. There is a lot of sand between the water and the grass area.

Plenty of choices when it comes to bathrooms...from port-a-potties, vaulted toilets & modern bathrooms.Very dog friendly park with 2 fenced-in dog parks inside. Dogs must be on a 6' leash.Lots of pinic tables & grills available. There are also picnic shelters to enjoy & rent out for events.

Actually a pretty quiet park during the week. Nice beach but lots of swans and therefore lots of poop so beware. Trails are nice and quiet with a lot of wildlife but loaded w/ mosquitoes so plan accordingly.

It's almost hard to believe you're in such close proximity to the city. If you're coming here with a camper make sure you bring an extension cord I'd suggest 50' I brought a 30' and my camper has an extended cord and I still had...Read More

Such a beautiful area with many private, secluded camping spots that are tree covered (fully, some partially) and with grass, along with more open, sunny spots, and many that are conjoined by a mowed path for larger groups. There is a 1.8 mile trail...Read More

We love this park so much. The beach is beautiful and always clean. The trails are nice and it has a huge dog park that also seems very clean. Even when it’s busy, it is a very peaceful place.
The restrooms are decent. On weekends they open up the nicer restrooms but even during the week there are bathrooms and showers available. There are also facilities at the trail heads, which is nice.

The camp sites are so unlevel that for the first time I had to jack up the camper with blocks on one side. Lots of overgrowth of trees/plants where it made it difficult to back in without taking off some branches. Also very difficult to see...Read More
