I entered this museum and uncultured swine, and exited quite the fan of Mr. Link. I highly recommend this spot. Almost slept on it myself. Glad I came around. Only wish I had the time to do the Virginia Museum of Transportation as well. Oh...Read More

Charming museum that was once a train station dedicated to one man’s love of the now gone steam engine train where his passion was captured in the impressive grandeur photographs he took from the 1950’s. A master of light and engineering, Ogle spent much of...Read More

We've visited twice for homeschool field trips. One was a walking tour, to learn about the history of the facilities nearby. Another was inside the museum, to learn about photography perspectives. Both events were informative and fun. The person in charge of these events is...Read More

First time visitor for Homeschool Days. What a gem! The program director is knowledgeable, energetic, and engaged. The musuem offers a variety of exhibits, both informational and hands-on, including Colonial era clothing for playing dress-up. We could have spent several more hours exploring....Read More

I was blown away by this place and was much more than I expected. I thought it was going to be an art gallery of the photos but it had so much more. Make sure you start with the film and that tells...Read More

Very nice museum visit. Two seniors visited this museum on a Wednesday in early June and greatly enjoyed ourselves. The photos Link took of the last of the working steam engines in the late 1950s were incredible. Very good short introductory movie about the world...Read More

It's a very small but informative and well-kept museum about the history of Roanoke and one of its main industries: railroads. The museum doesn't have much for anyone who is more hands-on, although there were little areas with Lincoln logs …

I discovered this page via researching the nearby Virginia museum of transportation. I mistakenly assumed this museum would be the lesser of the two, boy was I wrong. I would say they are equal, as they both spectacularly display some …

Interesting exhibit on modern architectural design of cars, trains, planes, and buildings. We found some books and old maps in the gift store that we bought. Sleepy but interesting to us on a genealogy research trip.
