I enjoy this farm, both the animals and the information you can learn about them. I got my brother an alpaca "adoption" which meant he could come for a visit with his girlfriend to meet and learn, and pick his sponsored animal, which was lovely. Sunny the Alpaca won his heart by chewing merrily on everything and being a very calm and gentle girl, and he spent his included gift certificate for the store on a nice pair of gloves. We herded up a couple of cria and forced some holding and petting on them (Deb says it's helpful to get the cria used to some handling, we didn't just randomly start harassing baby alpacas!). A great visit.
I visit Debs farm store there whenever I am able to get out there (make an appointment, the farm store is closed up unless she knows people want to come see it). She had some really really cool yarns in all sorts of colors and weights, as well as addictively soft socks (And many other items, including fleeces and roving for spinning). That's right, addictive socks. I'm wearing them now. Don't judge me.
I gotta go get more yarn soon, I just picked out another project. Just give Deb a heads-up to arrange an appointment and be ready to learn!
