McDade Park is hands-down one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve been to in Northeast PA. It’s not only full of natural beauty and walking trails, but it also holds such a special place in my heart—I’ve brought my dogs here in the past, and every visit felt like a breath of fresh air.
Tucked near my Aunt Sharon’s house and just down the street from Pizza Plus (bonus: grab a covered white pizza after a walk!), this park seriously has it all—wide open spaces, a playground, tennis courts, a splash pad, picnic areas, and even a pool. Plus, it’s right next to the iconic Lackawanna Coal Mine Tour, which makes for a perfect day of outdoor adventure and learning.
Also, I believe it’s smoke-free, which really makes the air feel cleaner and the environment more enjoyable for everyone—especially families and kids.
McDade Park is truly a gem—perfect for a peaceful walk, a family outing, or just unwinding in nature. 10/10 recommend!
