This might be one of the most natural and well-designed parks I’ve seen around San Diego. The whole layout just feels seamless with nature – walking trails along the river, trees everywhere, and open spaces that make you forget you’re still in the city.
The playgrounds are amazing: big slides, climbing structures, swings, ball courts, and even little bridges and shaded pavilions. There are play sets for all ages, from toddlers to older kids, which makes it super family-friendly. I really like how creative the play areas are, using natural materials like logs and rocks to make it feel more adventurous.
Beyond that, there’s plenty of space for a chill picnic, a dog park with different sections, and wide open lawns. You’ll also find outdoor fitness equipment, basketball courts, and a disc golf course if you want something active.
Plenty of parking, nice restrooms, and shaded areas make it comfortable to spend hours here. It’s honestly one of those places where you can just relax, let the kids explore, or bring friends for a laid-back afternoon.
