Live Oak Park is a nice city park with a mix of amenities and spaces for meeting up with friends. There are several distinct areas for different activity types, and this park is especially popular with families. Between Shattuck and Walnut Streets, there is a green...Read More
There's a small playground for toddlers and a bigger one for older children. There is a single-occupant outdoor public restroom near the tennis courts on Walnut Street. It's right next to the community center. The park is relatively dog-friendly.There are a couple of grills and picnic tables spread throughout the park, but don't expect them to be free. You can picnic on the lawn.

Great place for a little much needed solitude and relaxation alone, that is, until 50 teenagers descend on your private spot with a large party and a meeting that you discover is the writing staff for the Berkeley School newspaper. As a fellow journalist, I graciously...Read More

Great spot to catch end of the day rays of sun. Peaceful and quiet with lots of wildlife (and I don’t mean the local residents!)

I been to his park in my day program plenty of times before and earlier today doing a video project. The Atmosphere is nice and it’s great to have barbecues during the summer.

Strawberry Creek calmly winds thru a lovely grove of Coastal Redwoods. Want the perfect picnic? Grab Cheeseboard Pizza 3 blocks away on Shattuck, then chill on the grass or benches.

Quaint, little park in North Berkeley that can host small birthday parties. They have basketball and tennis courts next door as well.
Has a small playground for kids around 10 years old and younger.Has a public, unisex bathroom between the park and the tennis courts.Dog friendly environment with good dog owners who can control their dog if anything spooks them.Picnic areas have BBQ pits and are heavily shaded so it can be pleasant on a really hot day.

SF Mime Troupe performs here on weekends in late July. It is a civic space in which we celebrate our rights. We oppose the hateful, racist, and condescending right wing here!

Amazing park spanning several blocks, highlighting several open grassy areas for seating and whatnot, a play structure, alongside a basketball and several tennis courts. Lovely trees, creek access, and shaded spots!

My partner, friends and I enjoy potlucks and gatherings here. There's an art center in Live Oak Park that has regular events and there are often other community events. Check it out at Berkeley Parks and Recreation website.
