We visited the Library of Congress, the world largest library, with timed entry tickets for 11 a.m.—they’re free, but required for entry. Luckily, we arrived a little early, as there was already a long line forming. We ended up queuing for about 30 minutes, so arriving ahead of time definitely helped.
Once inside, we joined one of the library’s in-house short tours, which turned out to be a great decision. A friendly and knowledgeable guide led us around the main areas.
The highlight of the visit was without a doubt the grand Main Reading Room. It was absolutely breathtaking—a soaring domed ceiling, massive columns, rich woodwork, and soft light pouring in from the high windows.
The Library of Congress is not just a place for books—it’s a true national treasure, filled with history, art, and elegance. Just don’t forget to book your ticket—and arrive early!
