Great place to visit. This memorial is easy to access and educational. The memorial looks over the Portland Harbor. The sculpture itself makes you really understand the size of the ships constructed. Informative memorial dedicated to the local shipyard workers who built Liberty Ships in Portland during WWII. Several picture displays with historical information are inside the large Liberty Ship walk-through sculpture. Interesting history on view at this memorial for the Liberty Ships built right at the docks nearby. Those Liberty Ships helped the United States win World War II. You can walk inside a statue/ship frame, and also read about the history on very well done...Read More

There is plethora of info on the display boards within the structure. Very interesting, but you will need to spend a bit of time reading. ...and then enjoy the cute Bug Lighthouse at the other end of the parking lot.

I stopped here on my bike ride through the park. I loved the display and exhibits. If you like WWII history, this is worth a visit.
