Stopped here a few times about 100 yards or so north while resting during paddles over the years, though it has to line up with low tide to have much of a landing spot/beach. This could be turned into a nice paddling park and picnic area if we ever build a large enough community of folks, like me, that have their own kayaks and paddle boards. For me it was fascinating to compare my photos looking south toward Pier 17 and South Street Seaport---taken during a circumnavigation in summer of 2009 (despite Google putting yesterday's 2020 date on them)---and some recent photos taken showing the rebuilding/renovation of Pier 17 and a new rectangular high-rise currently going up in front of the greenish blue glass high rise. Oh, how NYC can change over just a few years.
