Overall, I think the Great Lakes science center is a great place for something to do once, and that’s about it.The entire third floor is dedicated to interactive activities, most which have been around since I was a kid over 20 years ago. They are some of the more fun options of activities there, but it would be cool if there was more stations of those, and maybe even some employees standing by and explaining the science behind it, and showing other cool things, etc. There also isn’t any specific flow to how the stations are set up in the main area, which is understand, especially for little kids, but would maybe help the progression of the science behind the stations. It honestly felt like one big play area with no real education (disclaimer: there were signs by each station, but with kids constantly running and rushing around), it was hard to take the time to read the signs). The second floor was all about space and the Apollo, some robotic stuff, but went entirely over our kids’ heads (toddlers), that we didn’t spend any time there, because they were quickly bored. Which was a bummer, because for spending $20 on an adult ticket, I felt like that was a bit of a waste. The first floor had a huge room dedicated to legos, which was kinda up our kids’ alley, but just had multiple stations of legos for kids to build things, which we already do at home.Overall, I think the science center has a HUGE potential to be amazing, and while it was fun, my family won’t be back for a few years.
