Edit: Back again in 2021 🎃. First Haunt in 2020. Went twice in 2018. They completely changed the Entire Haunt. Every worker & scare actor was beyond friendly & creepy ;) Evil Intentions is one of the best Haunts near NWI. Worth the 60+ min drive. Cant wait to visit again in 2021. They are very safe in regards to masks and social distancing. The online tickets time frame system works Great. Parking lot right across the street. Workers explained all the new safety guidelines. It didnt hurt the Haunt experience at all. Im an ex 9 yr scare actor. And Evil Intentions is always fun & very impressive. From costumes to set designs to props. I haven’t been to a haunted house since childhood, so this was a lot of fun. The place itself was huge it took my bf and I a full 30 mins to walk the whole house. Coming out of Covid it was nice to see so many actors it seems like hundreds crammed all in there! It was very creative there was so many different rooms to see and explore it felt like it was never ending. I was definitely scared, I screamed a lot and my heart was pounding pretty hard when it was over! I would recommend this one to anyone.

Best House I've visited in Illinois in 2020Pros:* The indoor waiting was awesome with the red lighting and actors climbing around and banging on the set / doing their best interacting with guests during covid restrictions.* The length of the haunt is great.* Fell for the "coffin loop" a 2nd year in a row and had to go in a circle 2 years in a row.* The set design is great with amazing amounts of detail to where I would want to stop and look at everything.* Some parts loop back to where you see where you came from / are going and is a cool design in a haunted house.* The actors were into their roles and performed them well.* A lot of cool stuff to buy at the end of the haunt.* No animatronics, gets boring seeing similar stuff in different haunts.Hit or Miss:* Costumes were great to "they must of shown up late for face painting"* The group in front should of been thrown out but were not, in line they were crowding the group in front of them, having their kids touch the actors. Caught up to them in the haunt and they kept trying to go backwards getting scared. At some point the father had his cell phone out recording inside the house. The group behind then caught up to so it was three groups exiting at the same time due to this one group...* Depends how busy you might have to wait a bit outside before entry into the indoor waiting.Cons:* Few actors didn't get good timing with their scares. Went through and they have a drop painting and drops late.* Some of the tactics to scare the guests (that should of been kicked out) are funny and for others scary. No need to block the path for a stare down because I laughed at how they were scared.Nitpick:* Needs more Caskets, saw more caskets in a different haunt...The place is worth visiting year after year!

Me and my friends had an amazing experience! It was very scary! The actors make up was very realistic and scary! Some actors also came out trued to scare us in line and interact with us, it was amazing! The staff and actors were very good at what they were doing. This is definitely a very good haunted house for those who love a good scare (not for kids and some teens). There are lots of loud noises and flashing lights so be careful. Also, when me and my friends got a little lost they stayed in charterer and pointed us the right way. Also for those going in groups. They only allow groups of 1-6 people to go together. 10/10 would recommend to those looking for a good scare.

This has become my favorite haunted house every year. First, everyone who works there is great and seems really excited to talk about the place and its history. I love that it is an actual historic building and casket company. Because of the unique building and being a permanent location they've been able to build things over the years that become a permanent part of the house. Yet each year they find a new way to add more or put a twist on it so even if you've seen it before it still gets you. Their uniquely shaped maze section is the best part of the haunt for me, and this year they changed up the lighting in the most effective way that even tho I had experienced it I was completely freaked out!I have always gone on a weeknight and it's very easy to get in and you're not rushed through. This year we went on a Saturday and that was a totally different story. Packed. We waited 2 hours past our ticket time and didn't get in and just left. I emailed them to ask if I could switch my tickets to the next Thursday and they immediately replied and made it right. Truly great people.The only way I could love this haunt more is if they let us do a lights on tour in the off season!! They also sell some merch, and I would love more Elgin casket company merch. Because of this haunt we have visited other businesses in the area. We love it.

We finally got to go to Evil Intensions. Wow! What they did, in an extremely short time is incredible! I can’t imagine moving your entire haunted house from one location to another, more so, moving it to somewhere with acres of property.The line set up is great, I love how they have stage like areas the actors can get up on and scare. Speaking of actors, the costumes have to be some of the best I have ever seen.I love the entrance! You instantly get pulled into a different world. I don’t want to give away anything but we really loved it.Inside you will find the coolest effects, great music that keeps your heart racing, attention to detail and twists and turns for days.If you are a true Haunted House fan, you will see the incredible amount of work that has already been done. When they are completely finished, this location will be the size of a small city for Haunters!Absolutely put this in your haunts to see this year!

The wait wasn't too long and the entertainment in line was fun. The walk through the corn maze was scary with really great tension and build up, and the overall experience isn't short like some other haunted attractions. Forsaken Hollow gives Evil Intentions so much more potential, but it's clear that they are just starting out.My advice is not to be too upset if you are disappointed with the location change and how it's not as good as it used to be, just be glad that you're witnessing their beginnings so you can compare it to how good it is once it's fully fleshed out. I can tell it's going to be incredible! I can't wait for Forsaken Hollow to be THE horror destination it is destined to become.

Used to love evil intentions when they were killing the game in their old location!Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this haunt this year. Although it was a longer walk time, it was extremely unfinished and felt like a very amateur haunt compared to their previous work.Not to mention, their scare actors were veryyyy lazy. Trying to whisper and laugh and tell me your life story isn’t what a scare actor should be doing. You should be popping out, following groups, screaming in my face and making me jump.Some only walked around, some didn’t even look scary enough and weren’t trying their hardest to scare people. And the people working with very little makeup and wearing glasses and simple clothes need to be fully dressed for a proper scare costume and need to have proper makeup done.Overall, the actors weren’t doing their best, the makeup and costumes were lacking & amount of unfinished space and lack of props made the haunt feel like a $15 pumpkin patch scare.Don’t think evil intentions will be placing any best haunts list this year.Go elsewhere & come back when they’ve made a better name for themselves at this new location.

Evil Intentions delivered a spine-chilling experience from the moment we arrived. While waiting in line, the atmosphere was already filled with terror, thanks to their scary actors creeping through the crowd. One particularly unsettling figure was a creepy doll that gave off silent but definitely deadly vibes. It was a perfect taste of what was to come.Once inside, the horror continued, starting with the corn maze. The setup was incredible, with the dark ambiance pulling you deeper into the scare. Two creepy girls singing as you wandered through the corn only heightened the dread. The design, paired with the incredible makeup and costume work, really set the tone for the entire haunt.The trail led us through a series of mausoleums, where the dark and haunting atmosphere was alive with well-timed jump scares. One of the best parts about this haunt was its length—it was a longer walk-through than expected, which was a nice surprise. Each room along the way added new layers of fear. The first room, with the confessional and witch on stage, was a fantastic opener, setting the mood perfectly. The prison area had a claustrophobic, chaotic feel, while the mannequin room and coffin hallway were nerve-wracking experiences that had you second-guessing every shadow.For being their first year at a new location, Evil Intentions has done a remarkable job. The attention to detail in both set design and performance was impeccable, creating an experience that was not only chilling but soul-snatching. I’m excited to see how they top this in the future, as I know they have plenty of room for new additions and terrifying changes. Can’t wait for next year!

My family and I have been loyal fans of Evil Intentions for many years and have always looked forward to the experience each Halloween season. This year, we were excited to check out the new location, as we’ve been eagerly following updates since Forsaken Hollow was announced. However, we were left disappointed by the experience.The attraction did not live up to what was advertised, and it’s not what we expected based on previous visits. To make things more confusing, the website only recently mentioned that it is a “multi-year project,” which was never indicated before. We were taken aback by how incomplete it felt compared to the standard we’ve come to know and love.That being said, there were some highlights worth mentioning. The makeup was on point, and a few of the rooms looked incredible and professionally done. However, the overall experience was lacking and did not capture the same immersive feel as past years.We are willing to give it another shot down the line—maybe in a few years when the project is completed—but as of now, we cannot recommend this haunted attraction. We hope it eventually returns to the level we’ve always appreciated, but for now, it falls short of the Evil Intentions we remember.

evil intentions should have stayed at their old location. we paid $100 for 2 VIP tickets which included being shoved into the haunt like cattle, directly behind another couple with 0 scare factor. the actors were lazy, none of the rooms had any character. it felt like a cheap, mediocre experience. it was the worst haunted house experience i have ever had. this is not an exaggeration, i really loved the casket factory because it had so much heart and it was a tradition every year. hopefully they find their heart, if not, it’s a huge waste of money and time.

Felt really sad for Evil Intentions reading of some these reviews. I’d like to see some of these “influencers” put together a haunt like this. I had a great time. It seems im one of the only people who think this is way better than the casket factory. It seems Evil Intentions may struggle a bit on busy nights from these reviews but it wasn’t too full on the night I went and I really didn’t see any other groups throughout the whole experience so it truly felt like I was walking through hell with my friends. The cornfield is an absolutely amazing addition and is solely why I enjoyed this one so much more than the casket factory. The corn is tall and dense. You won’t see the actors coming and if you go on a dark, windy night like I did, you’ll constantly be questioning if you’re hearing something move in the corn or just wind brushing through it. It felt like a classic 90’s horror film. The actual inside part of it was of the experience was the same as the casket factory but the casket factory was great too so I don’t have too many complaints. I also really appreciate how the actors will halt you for a few moments so you don’t run into other groups too often. My only singular complaint for this experience was the VERY long wood plank corridors. I did appreciate how cramped they were and the very tight turns so you didn’t know what to expect but there wasn’t a single actor in the corridors and I couldn’t even see a place where you could place someone for a scare. Its also extremely hot in this area. I think the haunt could do without that part. The corridor was also about an 8 minute walk. I just think there could be so many better rooms and scares fit into that space. Also saw some people complaining about the lighting and how it was too much for them. I quite enjoyed the rooms with the strobe lights. Some of the lights were so intense and violent that you could barely use your senses or see anything and I think that really added to the whole thing. One of my favorite rooms was the fog room where the actors would go under the fog and you couldn’t see them at all. I can’t speak for the scariness of the experience as I’m a huge fanatic of graphic horror. I don’t think a single actor got the jump on me for the whole show but what I can say is I had 2 adult men with me and they were gripping on to me the whole time to the point that they almost ripped my shirt. My two friends were screaming and full of fear the whole time. I had to be in front of the group for the whole haunt. Overall a great night and I would recommend this place to anyone for a great halloween experience. Thank you Evil Intentions for another great year and bringing great horror to community.

A couple of things - posts about waiting 1 1/2 hours in line for general admission absolutely accurate. Guess they are letting VIP passes go first. It was fine, just be advised of the wait. The path thru the corn to the house was fun. The house itself was pretty great. All actors, costumes, lighting, sound, smoke was really fun. One thing for management, and this is not a complaint. Went with a friend. The actor at the entrance of the house had an interaction with her. We thought it was part of the experience. She was not disrespectful in any way, nor was the actor. His final response was “you know what. For that you go alone.” Maybe he thought she was a wimpy girl and would beg not to go alone. She went then a minute or two later he let me go. I tried catching up but i heard people telling her to keep walking. I guess my point is this, if i wanted to walk the property alone, i would not have come with a friend. I wanted to experience the entertainment with her, not by myself - no biggy in the big picture i suppose, but it was clear it was just the two of us, and guess we should not have been separated, or at the least allowed to rejoin once in the house. Anyway, kudos to all the staff and choreographers. Really enjoyed the night and would go again.

Evil Intentions Haunted House was sadly disappointing this year. You could really tell they are trying to get something cool going and the passion was noticeable, however with such a large complex and coming from a much smaller location, they were not ready to open this year. About 1/4 to 1/3 the haunted house was bare plywood and they didn't have nearly enough actors. The house was pretty incoherent as far as theming goes as well. With how awesome the Casket Company location in Elgin was, I know this will grow into a great haunt, but they rushed it and it shows. Don't bother going this year, and wait until next year when they have had the proper amount of time to finish the house.

I hate to leave poor reviews but I was very disappointed by ei this year. I want to give them grace because what they were able to do in a short period of time is impressive however they definitely should have completed more prior to opening. It is a new construction and definitely smelled like it which kind ruined the vibe. Que line actors were great but the actors inside were lacking. I also think I should mention that if you have asthma to bring an inhaler. Im guessing the mix of sawdust, old barn dust and the corn maze gave me a mild asthma attack. Maybe i will give this haunt another try in a year or two, we will see

Arrival on opening night, and the place looked soulless. Groups had to wait in line for over an hour and were told to come back at a later date due to technical difficulties. We were able to receive a refund, but judging from our experience, not everyone did due to a lack of communication. The website advertised Forsaken Hollow but won't be open until next year, which should’ve been stated on the website. If you're looking to spend your time and money on a good haunted house, this is not it.

I loved the Elgin location but this year is lacking. We arrived at 7 pm opening time and had walk thru a huge baren field to get to entrance. Arrived midway down the line. The line didn't budge until 745 it took us till 830 to get to front. The restrooms are back all the way back across the field by the parking lot 4 port o potties all out of toilet paper already by 730. The corn field was cool but the trail after was lack luster. The actual building was pretty amazing alot of potential but it's not there yet. There's a lot of space to fill in. Midway thru a security officer pulled us outside to say we touched an actors 4 times someone in a backwards baseball cap one person in our 4 person group and I was behind this person the entire time and that accusation was false. We were able to proceed but at that point the rest of the haunt left a bitter taste in our mouth. This was my third haunt of the weekend and truly disappointed in the management they had the wrong group as no one in our group was obnoxious or disrespectful.

Honestly A for effort but the execution of the new space just simply wasn’t enough in my opinion. Went on opening day and they were experiencing some actor shortages and technical difficulties (which isn’t a huge deal, things happen and it’s opening night) but I at least expected so much more out of the house itself. The new sets all seemed kinda hastily put together and left me wanting more in every room. Lots of areas felt super empty and open, with little to no storyline/plot to any of it. I’d possibly be open to giving them another shot but then again, I just can’t see myself spending another $35 on this haunt. Hopefully they can get back to how it was at the casket factory as that was one of my favorite haunts! As the house stands now though, I can’t see myself returning and don’t really recommend unless you’re taking a young group.

I went last night (10/06/24) & OMG! It was soooo good! I was bummed when I heard they moved locations but I’m not anymore! It’s worth the little drive. The actors interact with you in the line, which makes the wait fun. We were a group of 3 & got to enter as a group of 3… Didn’t have to go in with strangers which was nice & made it more scary! They spaced the groups out well so we didn’t bump into others. So many actors & JUMPSCARES! I didn’t time it but it didn’t feel rushed & was pretty long. I’d say it took about 40 mins to get through. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I want to start by saying that Evil Intentions has been in my top 3 haunted houses for the last several years. So needless to say my family and I were PUMPED to see what they were gonna do with the new giant space...and we're left incredibly disappointed. The corn maze was the scariest part leading up to the haunt. But there was little separation to the groups (like 30 seconds) so we were all in one giant line when we arrived at the haunt entrance and continued that way through the whole thing. Nothing was ready.. all the rooms were made of spray painted particle board, with minimal props. What happened?! All the female actors had the same costume and face paint on...just smiling at you as you walked by. 90% of the particle board rooms were empty, there were zero animatronics, no blood, no bodies, a few caskets and church pews...wtf. the nun room, which was my FAVE, was hastily thrown together and you could see the wooden posts they were all made on! This was 100% not ready to be open and was a collassal disappointment. We paid $50 for VIP to have one of the worst haunted experience we've ever had. I'll be looking for a refund.
