Though the museum is in development, I had a very pleasant visit there with my boys. Seeing the amazing old pictures of how the mine progressed and used to have a railroad spiraling out of it! The amount of earth mined for such a small amount of product seems unbelievable! The staff were especially nice and they had some nice copper jewelry and postcards and t-shirts. There is no admission fee so I felt OK about buying a toy dump truck for my boys to support the museum. They have a movie about an hour long to show more of the history but probably not really geared for young kids. I think they close at 3pm on weekdays.
