I’ve been going to this zoo for 12 years now (since moving here) and seems that each year it’s improving. Aside from the recognizable changes in landscaping the butterfly exhibits seems to have made big improvements. These can be seen in the staffing,...Read More

Great place for viewing some butterflies and birds. There are three exhibits at this building. There is the art display, the Butterfly House, and an Aviary for bird viewing. We make sure we take a trip through this building on every Zoo visit.

What an amazing experience! When you go inside the big building, there's art displays and an earth room. Then there's a line to enter through double doors to view the butterfly exhibit. After that there's another set of double doors to enter a bird exhibit....Read More

It's a stunning building with beautiful art that flows into a two story towering room of butterflies. This transitions into the aviary with beautiful tropical birds.

Butterfly garden was not open. Penguins were not open either. But we still had a great time. And a Chimpanzee knew sign language. He clapped his hands and raised his right hand. Means friends. So cute it made the day

Exquisite butterfly garden. The atmosphere was incredible, and the ability to walk around and observe them in this habitat is a privilege that I didn't take for granted. You will also enjoy the array of flowers, and foliage here. Nicely done Detroit Zoo!

The butterflies were out in force today. The cocoons were hatching and there was a great variety of moths and butterflies everywhere. The weather was very comfortable, so it was a great visit.
