Absolutely LOVED our time here. We went once during the week and once on the weekend so my husband and their grandparents could see the exhibit as well.
As a SAHM I would rather take the boys during the week as it was far less crowded and seemed easier to navigate as it wasn't so crowded.
I do wish that the planetarium was offered on other days as well, rather than just Friday, Saturday, Sunday, as those seem to be busier days.
Having smaller kids I love that the building is smaller than most other museums so I feel more confident when I go by myself with the kids.
Parking is a two level structure, so some shaded and some not. The parking is a bit of a walk from the front doors, but being greeted by a stegosaurus replica is so much fun for the kids.
I took my two young boys ages 4.5 and 2.5, during the touring exhibit of SUE the TREX, twice! They absolutely fell in love with seeing all of the larger exhibits there are.
I was worried the boys would be too young for the science aspect of the museum and only be interested in seeing the trex cast, wooly mammoth cast, and other animals that are preserved.
They did enjoy seeing all of the animals, and most of the other exhibits.
The one my kids were nervous about was the exhibit showing how humans survived as that area is not as lit up as the rest of the museum.
The Cafe was a perfect place to stop and grab a bite because I had underestimated how long we would truly stay there. Spoiler, we stayed for 4 hours.
As an adult who loves learning and enjoys museums it also was fascinating to walk through and learn things I had forgotten from childhood.
Needless to say we ended up purchasing the family membership to return frequently. My boys constantly ask to return and we will be doing so minimum monthly.
